Friday, March 17th

Good Morning!!  It’s Friday, March 17th

  • Remember that the book fair starts on Monday and will be here all next week.  The book fair will  be open all day Monday through Thursday and in the morning only on Friday for final sales.  Set up your e-wallet or bring your money.  You may shop before KORT or during your English class preview.

  • There will be no Media Center passes for 5th grade lunch today due to the 8th grade presentation in the Media Center. All other grades will have passes as usual.

  • This is a reminder for students; there should be no food or drink brought out of the cafeteria at breakfast or lunches. We are seeing an increase in wrappers showing up outside and in restrooms. Please eat food only in the cafeteria to help keep our school looking great and not create extra work for our custodians.

  • 5th and 6th graders- student council is hosting an activity night just for you TODAY from 6-8. The cost is $10. There will be so many activities to choose from- dancing, swimming, open gym, games, bingo, Just Dance, and more. There will also be concessions sold, so bring extra money if you would like to purchase food or beverages. We can't wait to see you there! All school rules apply.

  • Attention Exploratory Day Students who went to Northern Clay Center:  Your clay artwork is ready to pick up in Mr. Jergenson's room anytime!  Good times to stop by are before KORT or after school, but passing time also works if Mr. Jergenson is in the art room!  Your artwork turned out great!

  • Students interested in taking summer Driver Education should pick up a flyer in the office. Registration opens March 27th at 12:01am.

  • Students, would you like to help keep our school clean? Our short-staffed custodial team has been working harder than ever, but it is everyone's job to keep our school beautiful. If you would like to help during responsive hour, fill out the google form in the KORT google classroom. This opportunity is for students in grades 7 and 8 who earn A's, B's and C's in their classes and who is not in band or choir. This opportunity is for one to two days per week. Someone will reach out to you once you complete the google form. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help our school.

  • Attention Middle School East!  WEB is hosting a dodgeball tournament for grades 5-8 on Friday, March 24th.  You can make teams of up to 10, and the cost is 5 dollars per person.  If you need another flyer, grab one from the office!

  • This is a reminder to show Knights’ Honor with our words. Think before you speak because words have the power to make or break someone’s day. Remember the rule of three when thinking about language: is it helpful, is it kind, and would the people who love me be proud?

  • Do you like art?  Do you love STMA? If so, you are invited to join an ART CONTEST! The winner's art will be featured in the 2023-2024 STMA District Calendar! If you choose to participate, your task is to create a piece of art that represents Middle School East.  Please submit your artwork to Mrs. Mesna (office) or Mrs. Iverson (art teacher) (via email or in person) by Friday, March 24th!

  • Registration is now open for 7th and 8th grade Spring Sports. We offer baseball, softball, track and field, golf, and boys tennis. The student info meeting will be on March 21st after school in the cafeteria. The first day of practice is March 27th. Check in with Mrs. Schleicher for questions.

  • We are indoors for recess today due to the windchill.

  • The main entree is a cinnamon roll with an egg omelet.

  • The pizza options are pepperoni, cheese, or all meat.

  • The sides are steamed carrots, assorted veggies, assorted fruit, and milk.

Have a great day, Middle School East!!!
