Good morning!!  It’s Friday, May 14th.

Video Announcements

  • A team Knights baseball had a great game against Princeton, although the final score of 2-0 didn’t reflect it. The team played error free defense making many good plays that saved runs. Preston P. and Landon P. lead the way with multiple defensive outs and Trey G. pitched 3 strong innings.

  • Joe W. pitched an incredible strikeout to kick the knights off in the first inning against Princeton. Brodi R. took the plate then had an epic steal at 2nd and 3rd and finished the game with an RBI! Will H. stepped up to the mound and also got the Tigers to swing for a strikeout. Peyton P. with a show stopping double in the 2nd inning had everyone on their feet. Cameron M. showed off with an inning ending catch in outfield and then later stole 3rd base. The Knights fell short to the Tigers 3-5 but showed incredible teamwork and skill.

  • The combined East/West 7th and 8th grade A softball team defeated Princeton in a pitcher's duel, 3-0 Thursday.  Callan W. outdueled their pitcher with an 8 strikeout, complete game shutout. Defensive highlights included a beautiful scoop and epic throw from left field to first by Dilana O., Amanda O. catching a foul fly at first, and Ava S. fielding a hot grounder at short with a quick throw out at first.  Kendra B. got the offense started with a leadoff home run down the left field foul line. Emma D. followed with a bunt single and some speedy running to score the second run. Amanda O. wrapped up the scoring the next inning after hitting a double. Our next game is Monday in Cambridge.

  • The combined 7th and 8th Grade Softball B Team lost 3-5 at last nights game against Princeton. The girls played well both in the field and at bat. Aubrey P. had a great catch at 2nd base and secured an out for STMA. Kayla W. did a great job of defending 1st base with two grounders perfectly fielded. Paityn P. cranked a ball out to left field and was able to advance two runners home while coming so close to an in the park homerun! Not to mention had 5 total strikeouts on the mound. Emerson B. and Sophia . did a great job of protecting home plate and did fantastic jobs as catchers. Great job, Knights!

  • Attention 5th and 6th graders; would you like to have more options for after school activities at East? We need to hear your ideas. Next Tuesday, May 18th during SEL, Mrs. Schleicher and Heidi Dehmer from STMA Community Education will hold a meeting in the cafeteria to discuss what you would like to see added at MSE. Please let your SEL teacher know if you would like to attend or use the google form in your attendance Google Classroom. 

  • Attention 7th Graders.  Those of you who have been chosen for WEB will be invited to a Google Classroom.  Please join it as soon as you can.  New 7th grade WEB leaders will have Play Day today, Friday, May 14th during 5th hour.  Make sure to let your 5th hour teacher know that you will be absent during 5th hour, get any homework you need, and meet your WEB Coordinators in the cafeteria. If you have a device, please bring it with you. 

  • Attention 8th Graders: If you are interested in being in Student Council as a 9th grader, please complete the application in the 8th grade attendance Google Classroom. Even if you weren't in Student Council in Middle School, you can still apply. If you are currently in Student Council as an 8th grader, you still need to apply. Applications are due by the end of the school day today. See Mrs. Gritti or Mrs. Lindquist with questions.

  • Chromebook Turn in is Just Around the Corner. Students not in distance learning who have a school Chromebook checked out - it's almost time to turn them in! They will be turned in during your social studies class on the following dates:

  • Grade 5 Tuesday May 18th  

  • Grade 6 Friday May 21st

  • Grade 8 Tuesday May 25th

  • Grade 7 Friday May 28th 

  • When returning them you will have to power them on, so have them charged and ready to go. You also need to turn in the cord, so make sure you have it along. 

  • 8th grade students interested in taking a Driver Education class this summer should register online at: Choose one of two July class options. Dates and times: July 12-23 (M-F)  9:00am-12pm or 12:30pm-3:30pm. Full details online.

  • A teams eat lunch first. B teams eat lunch second. We will be out front today.

  • The hot lunch option is grilled cheese, tomato soup, steamed carrots, crackers, blueberries and strawberries. The cold lunch option is PB and jelly uncrustable bento box, carrots, celery sticks and mixed berry cup.
