Friday, October 9

Good morning!!  It’s Friday, October 9th, and it is a Gold Day.

Extracurricular Choirs are starting soon at Middle School East. Knightengals is a 5-8 choir for girls, and King Arthur's Court is a 5-8 choir for boys. These groups will meet in person 8:20-8:50 am Monday mornings for Blue day students starting October 19th and Thursday mornings for Gold day students starting October 22nd. Your parents can get you registered through their ParentVue account. Talk to Ms. Trump and Mr. Pothen to learn more. Flyer

It is Mental Health Awareness Week.  Make sure to take good care of yourself and others this week and always!  Your Mental Health Tip of the day is: Connect with nature. Go for a walk and observe the life around you. Listen to the birds, watch the squirrels, smell the plants. Connecting with nature calms us and reminds us that we belong to a larger system and needn’t feel so alone in the world. It can help decrease any anxiety or depression you may be feeling.

The Blue Girls Tennis Team had their second match of the season on Tuesday. Doubles partners Megan B. and Kayla B. won their match in a second set tie break 6-3, 6-6, 7-4. Doubles partners Lyla C. and Maddie H. tied double partners Layla F. and Reagen C. 6-1, 6-6, 5-7. They will finish their match on Monday.

An overdue congratulations goes out to Lily V., Maddie T., and Addy T. on a smashing swim season so far! These three ladies have been competing on the high school varsity team since August. Lily is a returning swimmer to the high school team, and Maddie and Addy have been a great addition to the team this year! All three have been racking up varsity points, dropping time in their races, and we are excited to announce that all three have made our section team and will be competing at that on October 24th. Good luck to these swimmers as they face the Eden Prairie Eagle tonight at home!

Cross Country, Tennis, Soccer, and Football have competitions after school today.

Next week's school schedule has been adjusted. Gold day students will attend school in person on Tuesday next week and will do distance learning Monday and Wednesday.

Today we say goodbye to one of our STMA Middle School East family members. Today is Mr. Ferguson's last day as a long term substitute teacher in our building. Thank you, Mr. Ferguson, for your hard work and dedication to our students and staff. You will be missed.

Today’s lunch hot option is shredded turkey on a bun, and the cold option is a PB & jelly uncrustable bento box.

Have a great day!
