Good morning, it is Tuesday Oct. 15th.  It is Day #1.

Today students will have a class meeting in the cafeteria during their responsive hour. Students will go to their responsive hour class, teachers will take attendance and then you will sit in the cafeteria with your responsive hour class for the meeting.

Activities

The Foxtailers' Snowmobile Club and Community Ed is offering a youth snowmobile safety training course on Saturday, October 26th at the High School. Join the class and get your Minnesota snowmobile certificate! There is some prerequisite work to complete before October 26th! All students in grades 5-8 are invited to sign up for Art Club with Mrs. Iverson that starts Wednesday October 30th.  Sign up on the Community Ed website and join other creative students like you!

Attention Chess Club:  There will be NO chess club next Monday and Wednesday, October 21st and 23rd, and two days will be added to the end of the session on November 20th and 25th.

The Writer’s Club starts NEXT Monday Oct 21 to Dec 16 from 3:15-4:15 pm. Talk to Mrs. Lyke for more information.Sign up for Writers Club on the STMA Community Education website.

Reminder that this is a short school week for students.  Students do not have school this Wednesday, Thursday or Friday due to MEA break.  Enjoy the long weekend!!  

Students:  Remember to check the lost and found for any of your missing items.  ALL ITEMS will be tossed or donated after school today, Tuesday 10-15-19.  

SPORTS REPORT:  

The STMA Middle School Girls Tennis team hosted the Cambridge-Isanti BlueJackets last night for their final match of the season. All players played extremely well. Thank you for a great season of tennis! We look forward to playing next fall!

The girls's soccer A team finished up their season last night by defeating Cambridge 3-0. The team went undefeated this season! Outstanding job to East girls Ari, Marie, Ava, Addie, Lindsey, Sofia, and Izzy! 

The girls soccer B team ended their season in a 0-0 contest against Cambridge. It was a great season! Way to go East girls: Brooklyn, Tabby, Jayna, Abby, Meredith, Marlee, Olivia, and Ann! 

The girls' 7A volleyball team finished last night against Becker. Leah, Becca, Kayla, and Amanda set up their teammates Kendra and Abby, for great hits at the net. Molly, Camryn, and Faith also played aggressively at the net. Ady, Hannah, and Anna snagged some really great passes to help the team. Coach Hary has truly enjoyed working with you all this season. Coach Hary says, remember, in a world where you can be anything, be kind. 

Congratulations the 7th grade B volleyball team on their win over Becker last night!  The 7th grade B team ends their season undefeated! Way to go girls! Every girl on the team contributed to the win! Maggie B.,Brooke V., Olivia G.,  Madi E., Ellie M., Grace K., and Tianna C. with their awesome serving and great defense! Ladies you had an AWESOME season!

The 8th grade volleyball A team traveled to Becker last knight and tamed the bulldogs by taking 2 out of 3.  The girls played very well offensively, defensively, and served well. Good job of finishing off the season strong.  Be proud of what you accomplished and continue to grow as a positive role model.

8th Grade Volleyball B girls finished the season with a nail-biting 28/26 finish in the last set, with an overall season record of 34 Wins and 9 Losses!   Congratulations to these outstanding athletes!

At the "Big Meet" yesterday, the girls cross country team came home with the team championship and the boys finished in 2nd.

Elise L. won the individual championship to lead the team.  Earning medals for the girls were Breanna I., Caley C., Lilly C., Fae B., Grace S., Kelsyey C. and Leah H.

Top 20 finishers for the boys were, Anthony A., Dawsen W., and Lucas M.

Bowling team, you are dismissed at 2:45 today for your match.

Are you in weightlifting or another after school activity at Middle School West? Bus #16 will shuttle you over to West after school each day.
