Good morning, it is Tuesday, May 14th. It is Day #1.
Recess is out back again today. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 60’s during the lunch hour today. Enjoy this beautiful Minnesota weather.
7th grade WEB leaders for the 2019-2020 school year, please meet in the atrium after Academic Seminar on Wednesday morning. There is no need to bring anything with you!
Attention to all Knight Ambassadors—a reminder to turn in your green application form for next year to Mrs. Mesna in the office!
Ala Carte sales in the lunchroom are winding down for the year. As stock runs out it will not be reordered, but will offer water through the last day of school.
Student Council is holding elections to vote on members for next year. Voting is taking place this week during KORT. Election results will be posted on the Student Council website by Monday, May 20th.
7th Grade Softball had wins all across the board versus Monticello last night. The A team started off with an 11-0 win. Isabelle B. and Taylor T. both hit beautiful triples to center. Ella M. caught a foul ball that helped shut down the 3rd inning. Claire G. fielded a clean ball and fired to one while Maddy O. caught a fly ball to center to help wrap up the game. Isabelle B. was able to throw out the runner stealing second TWICE with amazing catch and tags by Sidney P. Team B stayed strong and won 10-1. Alary W. rocked a ball to left for a home run. Lauryn M. pitched an awesome game while also fielding a ball in front of the mound and fired to one closing out an inning. Huge thank you to Ella L. for being an outstanding manager! Great job ladies!
The 8th grade softball teams swept Monticello Monday. The A Team won 9-0 behind a dominating pitching performance by Anika R., who had nine strikeouts. Chloe J. added the offensive power with an RBI producing double and triple. The B Team won 15-6. Highlights included solid pitching by Jordyn C. and a home run by Emily M.
The East Beasties 7th grade A baseball team came ready to play against West as they stormed out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. They kept the runs coming as they had another 5-run inning in the 3rd and more runs throughout the rest of the game. Key hits came throughout the order as Zach Z. hit a 2-run HR, Tevin V. picked up RBIs on a double and a triple, Reece E. hit a double, Bryce H. had a 2-RBI triple and Thomas O. hit 2 home runs. East also had solid defense and pitching as Thomas O. struck out 8 of the 9 batters he faced and Q D. was solid behind the plate. Josh B. made great plays in the field as well. The game ended with East winning by a score of 17-7.
The East B team put out an amazing performance as well. Solid pitching from Colin G. and Andrew A. held West to only 3 runs in the whole game. Great defensive plays were made all around the field and key at-bats came from Andrew A. and Nick O. East finished the game with a 9-3 win and should be proud of how they played.
8th grade B team baseball got a great comeback win against West 13-10. The bats were alive as Peyton P. scored 3 runs, Sam H. hit a single, Carter K. hit a triple, Tanner G. reached base 3 times and Lake M. hit a walkoff 3 run homer! The A team lost a close one 7-6 against West. Reese J. hit a key 2 run double, Ashtyn G. pitched great tallying 5 strikeouts, Evan D. made a catch with one eye closed, and Andrew F. made a catch with his bare hand!
Softball team, you have a home game today against Becker today. A team plays at 3:30, B team at 4:30.
Boys’ Tennis team, you have a home match against Princeton. This match time is scheduled for 4:30, but may be changed to an earlier time to accommodate Princeton’s schedule. An announcement will be made if the match start time changes.
Baseball, Golf and Track and Field have practice today.
