STMA Earns AP 9th Annual Honor Roll

St. Michael-Albertville Schools is one of 373 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 9th Annual AP® District Honor Roll.  To be included on the 9th Annual Honor Roll, STMA had to, since 2016, increase the number of students participating in AP while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher. Reaching these goals shows that STMA is successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are ready for AP.

STMA offers 16 AP courses including courses such as Calculus AB/BC, English Literature and Composition, Music Theory, Psychology, Microeconomics, Statistics, Physics, Studio Art, Spanish, US History, and World History. In 2018, 314 students took 480 AP exams with 80% scoring three or higher. The Minnesota state average was 67% and the global average was 61%.

“I am very proud of our students, staff, and schools for achieving this honor,” said Superintendent Ann-Marie Foucault. “AP classes are rigorous and challenging and prepare students for careers and college.” She added, “I am grateful for our hard-working and dedicated teachers and administrators for creating a culture that inspires students to challenge themselves in a safe and nurturing environment.”
