Health Insurance Plans
STMA's health insurance plans are provided by BlueCross BlueShield of MN under their Aware Network. Employees can choose between four different high-deductible plans. Deductibles accumulate on the calendar year, with a 4th quarter carryover for VEBA, HSA, and Hybrid plans (not eligible for MVP plans).

VEBA Plan
- $1850 individual/$3700 family deductible
- Combined with a VEBA (health reimbursement arrangement)
- VEBA is an employer-funded account that can be used for out-of-pocket costs

HSA Plan
- $3750 individual/$7500 family high-deductible
- Combined with a Health Savings Account (HSA)
- Both the employee and employer can contribute to the HSA (up to IRS maximum)
- HSA dollars can be used for out-of-pocket costs

Hybrid Plan
- $3750 individual/$7500 family high-deductible
- Plan allows for VEBA and HSA combination
- VEBA is an employer-funded account that can be used for out-of-pocket costs
- HSA allows for both employee and employer contributions (up to IRS maximum)

MVP Plan
- $6350 individual/$12,700 family deductible
- Combined with a Health Savings Account (HSA)
- Both the employee and the employer can contribute to the HSA (up to IRS maximum)
