The strategic direction is to prioritize expenditures to efficiently allocate resources to programs and instruction essential to improving student achievement. Indicators of success are:

• STMA student achievement ranks in the top 5% in Minnesota while STMA revenue per pupil ranks last, 330th of 330 school districts.
• School Board policy requires the district to maintain a minimum of 12% equal to its expenditures in reserve compared to the current 16%.;
