St. Michael-Albertville Schools is seeking an exceptional educational leader to become our assistant superintendent and future superintendent through a thoughtful and focused superintendent succession plan. The STMA School Board plans to select the next assistant superintendent/future superintendent by early December, 2026. The successful candidate, who will begin July 1, 2027, on a three-year contract, will serve as assistant superintendent during the first year while working alongside the current superintendent to ensure a successful transition.

On July 1, 2028, the individual will assume the role of superintendent, continuing the district’s strong tradition of excellence, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to placing students first.

The STMA School Board is responsible for selecting the next superintendent, but stakeholder voice will be an important part of the process. Several focus groups are planned to help the board understand the qualities and characteristics our students, staff, families, and community value in STMA's next leader. In addition, an open community feedback session will be held on August 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the STMA Middle School West Media Center. All community members are welcome and encouraged to participate. There will also be opportunities later in the process for stakeholders to meet and engage with the finalist(s) through meet-and-greet sessions.
