2020 - 2021 Kindergarten Registration and Timeline

    Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2020, to be eligible for kindergarten. 

    January, 2020:  Families will receive a Kindergarten Registration Information Letter in the mail by February 1st.  If you do not receive the registration letter by the end of the first week of February, please contact Karen Sorensen at Albertville Primary at 763-497-2688, Ext. 1001.

     

    February 3, 2020:  Online registration opens for Kindergarten. 

    Once online registration opens for Kindergarten, an "Online Registration" button will be added here and it will direct you to your ParentVue account. A ParentVue Activation Key was included in your Kindergarten Registration Information Letter. If you did not receive a ParentVue Activation Key, please contact Karen Sorensen at Albertville Primary at 763-497-2688, ext. 1001.


    Feb. 26, 2020:  Is your child ready for kindergarten?  Q & A session for incoming 2020-21 kindergarten parents.

    May 7, 2020:  Kindergarten Open House:  Parents are encouraged to attend this event along with their soon-to-be kindergarten student.  Open House is on May 7, 2020, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.  The purpose of this open house is to acclimate kindergarten students to the Primary School.  Self-guided tours will be available during this building walk-through.  Don’s Bus will have a bus on site for students to get on and check out.  Representatives from Kid’s Play will be available to answer questions regarding before/after school childcare.  In addition, there will be an ice cream social.

     

    August 2020:  Ready, Set, Go!    

    * Teacher assignment letters are mailed in the middle of August. 

    * Directions to sign up for your specific orientation date/time will be included with the teacher assignment letter.  (See Kindergarten Orientation description below.)

    * A kindergarten supply list is mailed with the teacher assignment letter.

    * Bus route information will be available mid to late August via ParentVue accounts.

     

    September 8 & 9, 2020:  Kindergarten Orientation: 

    Kindergarten orientation is for student and parent/s only.  Plan on spending approximately one hour for the orientation.  You and your child will have the opportunity to meet with your teacher for 30 minutes, become familiar with their new school surroundings, check-in their school supplies, have their school picture taken, and have their vision/hearing tested.  Information on how to sign up for your specific orientation day/time, along with teacher assignments, will be mailed to parents in mid-August.

     

    September 10, 2020:  First Day of Kindergarten:  Welcome Class of 2033!

     

    Important Reminder Before the First Day of Kindergarten

    Early Childhood Screening is required prior to entering kindergarten. Contact Lindy Legatt at 763-497-6528 or lindyl@mystma.org to schedule your child's screening. 

      

    The following documents are needed for ALL enrollments.
    **These can be uploaded during enrollment or dropped off at the District Office**

    1. Proof of residency (need one of the following) Current driver's license, current utility bill, a letter from a government agency, a lease agreement, or purchase agreement. 
    2. Proof of age (need one of the following) Birth Certificate, Passport/Visa, official government document indicating the child's full legal name and birthdate. 
    3. Immunization Records - Must be submitted before your child will be allowed to attend school OR provide a medical or non-medical exemption.
    4. Court/Custody  (legal) documents, if applicable. 
    5. Copy of IEP if applicable.

    PEN ENROLLMENT - Families living outside of the STMA school district will need to apply for open enrollment. More information can be found on the Enrollment Choices Page of the District website.
