Registering Your Child for Kindergarten is Easy!
Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2019, to be eligible for kindergarten.
Follow this checklist to make sure your child is ready for the first day.
**List of required documents/forms:
Proof of Residency Document (Current driver’s license, utility bill, lease or purchase agreement, letter from gov't agency)
Birth Certificate (official, legal)
Student Immunization Form
Court Documents if applicable
IEP copy, if applicable
If you have trouble accessing the online registration forms, contact the Primary School office (763-497-2688) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a time to complete your registration.
February: Receive Kindergarten Registration Letter in the Mail by Feb. 1st. If you do not receive the registration letter by the end of the first week of February, please contact Karen Sorensen at Albertville Primary 763-497-2688 ext. 1001 or send an email to email@example.com.
February 12, 2019: Attend Kindergarten Registration Night (OPTIONAL), 4:00 to 7:00 pm. During Kindergarten Registration Night you will have the opportunity to use school computers to complete the online registration, turn in documents/forms (if not uploaded online), learn about the kindergarten program, and take an optional, self-guided tour. This night is for parents only.
May 9, 2019: Kindergarten Open House. Parents are encouraged to attend this event along with their soon-to-be kindergarten student. Open House is on May 9, 2019, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The purpose of this open house is to acclimate kindergarten students to the Primary School. Self-guided tours will be available during this building walk-through. Don’s Bus will have a bus on site for students to get on and check out. Representatives from Kid’s Play will be available to answer questions regarding before/after school childcare. In addition, there will be an ice cream social.
August 2019: Ready, Set, Go!
Teacher assignment letters are mailed the middle of August.
Directions to sign up for your specific orientation date/time will be included with the teacher assignment letter.
A kindergarten supply list is mailed with the teacher assignment letter.
Bus route information will be avail mid to late August via Parent Vue accounts.
September 3 & 4, 2019: Kindergarten Orientation.
Kindergarten orientation is for student and parents only. Plan on spending approximately one hour for the Orientation. You and your child will have the opportunity to meet with their teacher for 30 minutes, become familiar with their new school surroundings, check-in their school supplies, have their picture taken, and have their vision/hearing tested. Information on how to sign up for your specific orientation day/time, along with teacher assignments, will be mailed to parents in mid-August.
September 5, 2019: First Day of Kindergarten Welcome Class of 2032!
Before the First Day of Kindergarten
The Student Immunization form must be submitted before your child will be allowed to attend school.
Early Childhood Screening must be completed before the first day of school.
Early Childhood Screening is required prior to entering kindergarten. Contact Lindy Legatt at 763-497-6528 or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule your child's screening.
OPEN ENROLLMENT - Families living outside of the STMA school district will need to apply for open enrollment. More information can be found by following this link.
