For some families, homeschooling is the appropriate educational choice for their child. STMA Schools has an obligation to assure compliance with the compulsory attendance requirements under the law (MN Statute 120A.22). If you determine homeschool is the best option for your child(ren), please complete and submit the appropriate forms:
- Submit by October 1 of the FIRST YEAR of homeschooling to the resident district, or within 15 days of withdrawing a child from a public school in order to homeschool (MN Statute 120A.24)
- Submit by October 1 of EACH YEAR after the instructor has provided the same resident district with a Homeschool Full Report the prior year.
Child Find and Identification for Special Education Services for Nonpublic and Homeschool Students
St Michael-Albertville Public Schools has developed systems designed to identify pupils with disabilities beginning at birth, pupils with disabilities attending public and nonpublic schools, and pupils with disabilities who are of school age and not attending any school. Per the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement ACT (IDEIA), STMA Schools is responsible for locating, identifying, and offering educational services to students with disabilities.

Aids to Nonpublic Pupils Forms
A small amount of financial reimbursement is available through the State of Minnesota's Aids to Nonpublic Students program. The DEADLINE to submit for intent to participate is October 1.
