• Junior Timeline

    • Explore interests in subjects, colleges, and careers
    • PSAT exam (recommended to students in the top 25% of class)
    • Collect college brochures, view books, and program information – organize information
    • Attend meetings with college representatives in the Career Center during SNAP
    • Check out the Minnesota Career Information System for college and occupation information


    • Check ACT and SAT registration deadlines
    • Investigate requirements for admission to colleges that you are interested in
    • Register for senior year classes and check graduation requirements for high school


    • Obtain PSEO (Post Secondary Enrollment Options Program) information (class rank must be in top 50%) if interested for senior year and set up a parent meeting
    • Make contact with colleges to schedule summer visits
    • Take ACT (February, April and/or June) and/or SAT
    • Line up a summer job or internship
    • Continue to narrow down college selection


    • Visit at least two or three colleges to make comparisons
    • Get reference letters from summer jobs, internships, or special activities
