Junior Timeline
Fall- Explore interests in subjects, colleges, and careers
- PSAT exam (recommended to students in the top 25% of class)
- Collect college brochures, view books, and program information – organize information
- Attend meetings with college representatives in the Career Center during SNAP
- Check out the Minnesota Career Information System for college and occupation information
Winter
- Check ACT and SAT registration deadlines
- Investigate requirements for admission to colleges that you are interested in
- Register for senior year classes and check graduation requirements for high school
Spring
- Obtain PSEO (Post Secondary Enrollment Options Program) information (class rank must be in top 50%) if interested for senior year and set up a parent meeting
- Make contact with colleges to schedule summer visits
- Take ACT (February, April and/or June) and/or SAT
- Line up a summer job or internship
- Continue to narrow down college selection
Summer
- Visit at least two or three colleges to make comparisons
- Get reference letters from summer jobs, internships, or special activities
