Welcome to Middle School East

Thank you for taking an interest in our school and the tremendous educational opportunities we have to offer. We currently serve approximately 1,000 students in our 5th-8th-grade middle school. Our school year is off to a wonderful start due to the preparation of our outstanding staff, the positive attitudes of our students, and the support of our incredible families and community members!

We truly appreciate the support and encouragement you give your child’s education! You are a vital component to their success! There are numerous ways for students to be involved here at school including athletics, choir, band, WEB, student council, chess club, art club, ski club, and the list goes on! We are thrilled to share with you that 84% of our middle school students are actively engaged in an extra-curricular activity here at our school. That certainly makes a tremendous difference in their sense of belonging here at school and improves their academic progress.

We are very committed to each and every student at our school. Please be sure to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child’s academic, social and emotional well-being. We’d love to share our before- and after-school supports with you including Youth Matters, Morning Youth Matters, and Morning Math Help. Our teachers welcome your communication and can individually meet with you or your child.

Academically, we will be continuing to focus our efforts towards utilizing the data received from NWEA scores to identify areas needing improvement. Differentiated instruction will be used to meet the needs of our students in the classroom, building upon their foundation of learning. Currently, students take the Math and Reading portion of the NWEA test. Our staff development focus this year is on improving our reading culture and ability, providing students with the tools and opportunities to assist them in growing as problem solvers and self-advocates, and to provide students with quality community connections and outreach activities.
