Join Reading Corps

The STMA School District is pleased to announce that Fieldstone Elementary, St. Michael Elementary, Big Woods Elementary and Albertville Primary have been invited to participate in the Minnesota Reading Corps (MRC) program for the 2019-2020 school year.  MRC is a statewide initiative to help every  Minnesota child become a successful reader by the end of 3^rdgrade. St. Michael Elementary will be looking for one full-time tutor and one part-time tutor to work one-on-one with 1^st– 3^rdgrade students who are just below proficiency in reading. Beginning in August, recruited members will receive training and serve for 11 months. In exchange for their service, members receive a modest living allowance and an education award to use toward college tuition or to pay back federal student loans.  If you are interested in becoming a Reading Corps Member, please visit their website at www.minnesotareadingcorps.org.
