Good morning, it is Wednesday, September 6th.  It is a day 2.  

Congratulations 7th grader Nathan E. – you checked out the first book of the year from the library.  Please report to the library to claim your prize and keep on reading!!!

Any 5th grader interested in running for Student Council can pick up an application in the office, or from Ms. Barrett or Ms. Paasch.  Applications are due September 13th.

Attention all MSW Students! Photography, page design, wordsmithing…if they sounds interesting to you…consider joining the yearbook staff.  The yearbook at STMA Middle School West is designed by students from the cover to the pictures inside. It involves taking pictures, choosing content, choosing the cover, deciding page layouts, and ensuring that the content is readable!  Yearbook staff application are available in the office.  Applications are due to Mrs. Peterson by September 15th. 

All boys and girls ages 9-14 (as of Sept 1st) are invited to participate in the Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge.  The competition will be held this Friday at 6:00pm at the STMA Middle School East soccer fields.  There is no cost to compete and winners will receive awards and can advance to the state level competition.This competition is designed for players to demonstrate the most basic of soccer skills – the penalty kick.  Each player will be take 15 shots at the goal from the penalty line that is 12 yards back.  The goal is divided into 5 scoring zones with ropes.  The upper corners are worth 20 points, the lower corners are worth 10 points, and the center is worth 5 points.  The participant in each age category with the highest point total will be declared the winner. 

All girls 4th – 8th grade interested trying out for travel basketball can find information at stmagbb.com or contact Coach Hamre.  Open gym is this Sunday from 3pm -5pm at the high school and tryouts are September 17th at Middle School West.

Lunch today is General Tso’s chicken or pulled turkey on a hoagie bun with PBJ grape and a deli turkey hoagie.
