Posted on: Oct 4, 2017

Good morning, it is Wednesday, October 4th.  It is a day 1.

Today is a SNAP day.  On SNAP days make sure you bring all of our materials with you to SNAP.

Art Club begins tonight after school in Ms. Erickson’s room.

There will be an organizational meeting right after school Friday in the lecture hall for all 7th & 8th grade girls interested in playing school basketball this year.

You can get into tomorrow night’s boys’ soccer game against Big Lake for free by wearing your Knights against Cancer t-shirt.  You can also get free admission to Friday volleyball tournament.

The 7th grade volleyball team is busy this week.   They were able to defeat Monticello 6 to 0 but fell to East 4 to 2.  After a rough start serving the girls were able to come back and dominate at serving against Monticello.  The Knights were led by Maddie G., Makiah K., Emily O., and Kassie M.  On Tuesday the Knights fell to East in many hard fought matches.  The Knights saw some great plays at the net from Tessa J..  The B team also split this week.  However they lost to Monticello 5-1 and beat East 4 to 2.  In the game against Monticello we were led by strong play from Holly C.. In the win over East the girls were led by strong serving from Taylor M.

The Cross Country team ran at the Rec Center yesterday and had a great performance.  The girls’ team finished in 2nd place and the boys team finished in 3rd.  The top runners in the girls’ race were Leah T. and Claire P. finishing 29th and 30th overall. Earning top finishes and ribbons for the boys were Adam H. (17th), Gavin R. (19th), Bobby C. (31st) and Luke J. (33rd)  8th grader Katie S. helped the varsity girls cross country team to a team championship at their only home meet of the season last night. Ali was 4th overall with a time of 19:22 on the 5k course.  The varsity girls are currently ranked number 3 in the state.

Lunch today:  Lines one and two have General Tso’s chicken.  Line three has barbecued beef rib hoagies, PBJ grape, deli turkey sandwich.

“There may be people that have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.” –Derek Jeter   These students never make excuses. They work hard day in and day out.  They don’t only push themselves, but they push their classmates making everyone around them better. And they do this each day with a smile on their face and great attitude.  The PE department couldn’t be prouder of our September FIT KIDS of the Month: 5th graders Adeline R. and Tyler S.; 6th graders Julia B. & Drake K.; 7th graders Maria V. & Mason B., and 8th graders Hailey  E. & Parker S.

Have a great day.
