Good morning, it is Tuesday, September 19th.  It is a day 2.  

All eighth graders that are interested in joining the debate team this year should attend the student and parent informational meeting tonight at 6:30 in Ms. Devine’s room 2283 at the high school. Please email Ms. Devine at melanied@stma.k12.mn.us if you have any questions.

The STMA high school volleyball teams  will be hosting their annual Youth Night tonight during their home match against Wayzata!  All youth and middle school players wearing their jersey or an STMA volleyball shirt will receive free admission into the matches! In addition, there will be t-shirts and mini-volleyballs thrown out before the varsity match begins. After the match, Varsity players will be available for photos and signatures.

Students, Knights Honor drawings will start tomorrow. 

All youth soccer players wearing a soccer jersey will get into the boys AND girls soccer games this Saturdayfor FREE.  The boys’ game will be at 11:00 and the girls will play at 1:00.  We hope to see you there!

The West boys’ B soccer team defeated Cambridge-Isanti last night 3-2.  Sam Drake scored two goals and Jake Krumenauer scored one. The boys did a great job working tougher as a team, and played smart and aggressive in the second half.  

The girls’ soccer team split with St.  Francis last night.  The A-team came out strong, but ultimately lost 4-2.  Scoring in the first game was Erin M. and Raelin S. with an assist by Emily B.  Great defense at the goal was also provided by Kristy L. and Marah V.  The second team won 5-0  with goals from Zaya E.,  Edie N., and Kaitlin C.  The second team also had great defense and great goal keeping from all involved.

The girls swim and dive team swam really well last night and beat Cambridge/Isanti winning every event except one.  The girls swim strokes are looking good with very few mistakes. Allie L. had her best 100 free time, Emma H., Ava Y., Emma C., and Kate R. had great individual swims.

The 8th grade volleyball team had a strong showing last night against the Buffalo Bison. The B team won 4 of 6 games while the A team won all 6! Strong serving from Emily P., Emma T., and Karlee B. led the B team, while Blazden M., Brooke M., and Brooklyn D. led the A team. Both teams worked hard and showed great hustle and teamwork on the floor.

Girls’ tennis team is at Monticello Middle School tonight.  Bus leaves at 3:20.

Girls’ soccer team is at the Becker City Ball Complex tonight.  A game is first.  Bus leaves at 3:20.

Cross Country team is holding an inter-squad meet tonight at East at 4:00.

Boys soccer team is home tonight (at East) against Chisago Lakes at 4:15.  A game is first, Blue B team plays tonight.

7th grade football team plays East tonight on the varsity field at 3:45.  B game is first.

8th grade football team plays East tonight on the varsity field at 6:00, B game is first.

Homecoming dress up days for next week are Monday: Student/Teacher Swap, Tuesday: Beach Day, Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday/ Crazy Hair, Thursday: Dynamic Duo , Friday: Blue and Gold/ STMA School Spirit

Lunch today:  Lines one and two have soft shell beef tacos or chicken fajitas.  Line three hot turkey ham and cheese sandwich, PBJ grape, deli turkey sandwich.

Fifth graders please head to the gym at this time.
