Let’s give a shoutout to the 8th grade girls basketball teams, as they traveled to Big Lake and proved to be ungrateful guests, beating the Hornets in both the A and B games. The A team earned their first win on the season, and the Gold B team improved to 2 and 0 as both teams cruised to victories. Sophie J. again led the way, with 14 points, Mikayla V. made 7 points look easy, and Hailey E. put in 6.

The 7th grade girls’ basketball B team traveled to Big Lake and came away with a 54-10 victory. Emily Z. kicked in 10 points from the point guard position. The team played aggressive defense that contributed to many steals and scoring chances. Nicole B. was a steady defender and rebounder. The A team overcame early foul trouble to post 54-12 victory. The team struggled early making shots from close range. Aggressive defense provided numerous steals that gave the team extra scoring chances. Zaya E. scored 14 and was solid at the point guard position. Piper C. scored 10 points all in the second half. Her offensive rebounding provided her with easy put backs. Drew B. was gritty on defense and made a nice 15 foot shot.

7th & 8th grade girls’ basketball A teams are home tonight against Buffalo at 4:00.

7th & 8th grade girls’ basketball B teams are home tonight against Buffalo and against Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted. 8th grade Gold B team will play Buffalo at 4:00, 8th grade Blue B team will play HLWW at 5:00.
