The 7th grade girls’ basketball A team had another convincing win to start the week. After a sluggish beginning the Knights slowly pulled away for a comfortable win over Chisago Lakes. The girls again showed balance scoring with many girls entering the score column. Niki B. scored 9 points and Gabby V. had 8. The team thrives on steals and fast break scoring. There is still work to be done in the half- court offense. The B team played solid defense and executed a nice pick and roll game in the win for the Knights. Sam K. had 10 points while playing multiple positions on the court. Emily Z. had 8 from her point guard position. Makiah K. had 3 points with a nice shot and free throw. Some of the 7th grade girls B team played Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted yesterday in a tough battle. The Knights fell to the Lakers 35-34, after leading until the final 30 seconds of play. Leading the Knights with stellar play was Julia W. with 6 points, 4 assists and 3 blocks. Edie N. scored 7 points and Drew B. scored 2. The lady Knights went 6 for 10 at the line.
The 8th grade girls Gold B team played a tough HL-W-W team yesterday. The Knights lost the game, but still came out with a few victories. Six players scored in the game including Sydney R.
