Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 - Day 1

Good morning, it is Tuesday, April 18th.  It is a day 1. 

5th Grade students:  Today after KORT you will continue to take your MCA Reading test.  You will report to the same location that you took your test yesterday.  Pleaseremember to leave cell phones and devices in your locker, as they are not allowed in the testing environment.  Remember to use the restroom, get a drink and get a book to read before you go to the testing area.  6th grade students:  You will begin your MCA Reading test tomorrow.  You will get schedules and find out your testing location today during 4th hour. Because tomorrow is a SNAP day, the schedule you get will have you report to your testing location at 8:30. 

Students needing books should visit the media center before school or after testing is finished each day. Students may come during the first 10 minutes of KORT to check out books. The media center is closed during testing sessions.

SOAR this summer!  SOAR is offering a first-ever teen intensive production of Legally Blonde the Musical for ages 13-19.  Also available are summer theater camps for ages 7-12, with productions of Disney's Aristocats, The Magic Treehouse Pirates Past Noon, Pippi Longstocking, and Frankenstein!  Visit www.soararts.com for more info and to register!  

Tryouts are Thursday for all 8th Graders interested in trying out for the fall sideline cheer team and 6th- 8th grade girls interested in trying out for the varsity or JV competitive cheer teams.  A clinic to prepare for tryouts will take place tonight from 6-8pm in the Middle School East gym and again tomorrow.   For more information, check out the STMA Cheerleading website or talk to Ms. Stephens.

The 7th grade baseball team played two well pitched games last Thursday against East.  The B team won 11-4.  Joe S. and Kaleb A. had strong performances on the mound, with Mason S. and Liam C. behind the plate.  In the A game, West came up short, falling 3-0  in a great defensive battle with Ian S. spending time behind the plate.  The 7th Grade Baseball team split with Foley last night, Losing 4-2 in the first game and winning 10-4 in the second game.  In the first game, Trey S. and Justin M. did a great job of throwing strikes and relying on defense behind them.  In the second game, Mason S., Joe S. and Layton C. were each a solid 2 for 2, with 6 runs scored between them!

The 8th grade baseball A team won a hard fought game against a strong Foley team. Eric F. outlasted the Foley lineup giving up only one run and picking up a complete game victory. The bats broke through for the Knights in the final inning as Max S., Nic S., Blake L., Jack D., Jacob D. and Jack H. put together a rally to break away from the Falcons. The Knights won 6-1 to improve to 2-0 on the season.The 8th grade B baseball team played hard and showed incredible fight as they fell to Foley in a tough game. Tommy S. and Parker G. battled on the mound as Taylor G. and Kai C. made quality plays in the field.

Knights Boys Gold Tennis team lost at Buffalo 6-3 last night.  Liam L. won at singles and Easton F. won at doubles. 

7th & 8th grade spring athletes, mid tri is this week.  Make sure you are passing all of your classes, so that you can remain eligible to play your sport.

7th & 8th grade softball teams are at Becker High School tonight.   Bus leaves at 3:20.  A games are first.

8th grade baseball team is at Buffalo Middle School tonight.  Bus leaves at 3:20.  A and B games played at the same time.

Boys’ tennis team is home tonight (at East) against Monticello at 4:00.  Blue team plays tonight.

7th grade baseball team is home tonight against Buffalo at 4:15.  A and B games played at the same time.

Main lunch line has corn dogs, romaine salad, corn , spiral cut fries, chilled pears, and fresh fruit.  The alternate line has PBJ grape, Philly steak sandwich, sautéed vegetables, romaine salad, potato smiles, and assorted fruits and vegetables.

At this time, please have all 7th graders go to the auditorium for an informational meeting
