Good morning, it is Thursday, September 21st. It is a day 1.
Students, this is a reminder about Cell Phones and Electronic Devices: Students are not allowed to use electronic communication devices such as cellular phones, electronic games, CD players, Ipods, MP3 players, Apple Watches, etc. during the school day (8:00-3:05) unless they are using them in a Project Phoenix/BYOD Classroom. If a staff sees that you have it out in the hallway between 8:00 and 3:05 or at lunch, they are instructed to bring it down to the office for your parent or guardian to pick up.
Attention Students and Staff,Today all students will complete the Bus Safety Training and Evacuation Drill starting at 9:00. Teachers, check your email for the schedule. The bus safety training and evacuations will be carried out using that schedule.
The Knights Honor drawings will be read today during lunch.
All youth soccer players wearing a soccer jersey will get into the boys AND girls’ soccer games on September 30th for FREE. Note this was a mistake on previous announcements, the games are on September 30th, not this Saturday.
The 7th grade football A team posted a shutout against East on Tuesday night. The defense created two big turnovers. Ethan B. caused a fumble and ran it 45 yards for a touchdown. Josh S. had an interception and ran 30 yards. Conner L. ran a 20 yard sweep in for a touchdown to give West 12 points. The B team also defeated East. Alex L. rushed for both touchdowns. Graham A., and Elijah H. both played phenomenal defense acquiring multiple tackles for a loss.
The boys’ soccer team defeated Chisago Lakes on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday the STMA Cross Country team ran an intersquad meet. In the boys’ race, the White team came in first with 66 pts. Members of the winning team were Bobby C., Gavin G., Hayden H., and Nathan E. Coming in second place was the Black team . Adam H. finished second, Gavin R. finished 4th Bobby C. finished 5th , and Max D. finished 6th overall. The winning team in the girls’ race was the Black team. They beat the orange team by 1 point. Mia Marthaler was a member of the winning team.
Congratulations to the 8th grade A football team on their victory over Middle School East Tuesday night. West rode the shoulders of their offensive line to the tune of three rushing touchdowns. Kemry S. led the rushing attack with three scores. Uriah P. hauled in a touchdown pass from Johnny T. to cap the scoring for the Knights. Max K., Ben B., Johnny T. and JP J. added extra points.
Congratulations to the Girls Tennis team for their victory over Monticello on Tuesday. The Knights tennis team is now 1-1.
Congratulations to the A and b Girls Soccer Teams on their wins against Becker Tuesday Night. The A team won 4-1 with a hat trick by Sydney P., and a goal from Raelin S. It was a great team effort on all fronts with key stops by both the defense and the keepers. The B team won 6-0 with goals from Julia D., Olivia O., Edie N., and Nikki. Keep up the great work girls.
Boys Soccer team is at Princeton (North Elementary) tonight. B game is first. West team plays tonight. Dismissal from class is at 2:55.
7th & 8th grade volleyball teams are home tonight against Chisago Lakes at 4:15. B matches are first.
Girls tennis team is home tonight (at East) against Buffalo at 4:15.
Girls’ soccer team is home tonight (at East) against Cambridge-Isanti at 4:30. B game is first.
Lunch today: Lines one and two have breaded chicken patties. Line three has barbecued beef hoagie, PBJ grape, deli turkey sandwich.
Homecoming dress up days for next week are Monday: Student/Teacher Swap, Tuesday: Beach Day, Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday/ Crazy Hair, Thursday: Dynamic Duo , Friday: Blue and Gold/ STMA School Spirit
