Good morning, it is Thursday, January 18th.  It is a day 1. 

Best of luck to the following students who are representing Middle School West at the District Spelling Bee tonight:  Jaylen A., Mike A., Karsen C., Rachel D., Tanner F., Trinity R., Sydney R., Colin R., and Dani S.

7th & 8th grade winter athletes, remember that mid-tri is this week.  Make sure you are passing all of your classes, so that you can remain eligible to play your sport.

If you would like to purchase a Team Chris shirt for our Cancer Awareness Boys-Girls varsity basketball double header on January 26th. The deadline to order is today.  Shirts will be delivered to schools January 25th or can be picked up at the game on January 26th.  A portion of each shirt sold will be donated to the Braun family.  Thank you for supporting Chris and her family!  You can order from the STMAGBB girls basketball website: WWW.STMAGBB.COM

Students in grades 6 – 8 that are interested in Weightlifting should pick up a flyer in the office.  Just a reminder that winter weight lifting starts next week Wednesday.  The session will cap at the first 100 kids, boys and girls grades 6-8, who sign up.  If you need a flyer, you can grab one from the office, Mr. Kelley or register online.

Register Online with community education for winter art club. Art Club is for students in GRADES 5-8 interested in being creative and making art. Mrs. Erickson runs art club on Wednesdays from 3:15 until 4:15 for eight weeks and it begins on January 31st.   Registration Ends January 30th

The 8th grade Boys Basketball Teams opened up their seasons’ on the road on Tuesday afternoon at Princeton Middle School, and unfortunately, came home with two losses.  The A Team squandered away a 1 point halftime lead, and fell 45-38. A Lackadaisical effort on the defensive end was the demise for the Knights in this one.  Riley P. & Joe S. combined for 23 points in the losing effort.   The Gold B Team played hard, and went on a nice second half run to close the gap to 3 points, but that is as close as they would get, losing 38-25.  Grady B. & Evan S. led the way with 7 points apiece, and Blake K. chipped in with 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

Wrestling team is home tonight against Cambridge-Isanti at 4:30.

7th & 8th grade boys’ basketball teams are at Monticello Middle School tonight, B games are first.  Bus leaves at 3:20.  Blue B teams play tonight.

7th & 8th grade boys’ basketball Gold B teams plays Monticello tonight in gym 3 of Middle School East.  Bus leaves at 3:20.  7th grade game will be first.

Lunch today:  Lines one and two have breaded chicken patties with potatoes and gravy.  Line three has barbecued beef rib on a hoagie bun, PBJ grape, and deli turkey on a hoagie bun.
