Good morning, it is Wednesday, February 21st.  It is a day 3.  It is book character day.

Here are the winners for yesterday’s Jersey day:5th grade: Kyle V. and Ryan E.; 6th grade: Sarah P. and Alex M.-M.; 7th grade: Belinda A., Carson Z.  and Jackson H.; 8th grade: Tyler H. and Paige H.; Staff: Mrs. Harrison and Ms. Schlecht.  Winners, please go to the office to collect your prize. 

There will be an organizational meeting right after school tonight in the lecture hall for all 7th & 8th grade girls interested in playing school softball this spring.

There will be an organizational meeting right after school on March 6th in the lecture hall for all 7th & 8th graders interested in going out for track this spring.

Students interested in attending Shrek The Musical Jr. should pick up a performance flyer in the office.

7th & 8th graders interested in attending the state wrestling tournament on March 1st should pick up a permission form in the office.  Your permission form and $14 need to be turned in by 3:15 on February 27th.  No forms will be accepted after that time.  Keep in mind that the end of the trimester is the day after the tournament, so if your grades are low, it may not be in your best interest to attend the tournament. 

The 7th grade boys’ basketball A team beat Princeton 50-30 on Tuesday night.  The Knights built a 10 point lead in the first half.  The second half the boys controlled the game with improved offensive execution and also limited the Tigers drives to the basket.  Grant R. played tough inside scoring 11 points while Connor L. had another solid defensive game which resulted in him scoring 10 points.  The Blue B team recovered from a slow start and raced to a 48-22 victory.  Aggressive defense resulted in many fast break baskets for the Knights. Eli H. had 8 points scoring around the basket and excelling defending on the inside. Mitch R. was a pest on defense with many steals and lay ups which lead to 8 points.  Aiden L. also had 8 points with a nice outside jumper in the first half.  Blue team has continued to improve as the season moves forward.   

The top 5 KORTS in AR points:  Ms. Barrett 841 points, Mr. Venaas 844 points, Mrs. Rowland 928 points, Mrs. Leland 1026 points, and Mr. Oseth 1182 points.

The top 10 students in AR points are:  10th place Talia S., 9th place Tamaira N., 8th place Metabelle S., 7th place Mason A., 6th place Colin R., 5th place Delaney F., 4th place Joseph Q., 3rd place Ella O., 2nd place Ngao V. with 363 points, and first place is Angelika M. with 485 points.

Lunch today:  Lines one and two have chicken alfredo over buttered penne pasta.  Line three has Philly steak on a hoagie bun, PBJ grape, and deli turkey on a hoagie bun.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is KORT theme day.

Right after you say the Pledge of Allegiance, all 7th & 8th grade wrestlers and managers should report to Mr. Sukalski, so he can explain to you your fan bus options for the state wrestling tournament next week.
