Middle School West - Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 - Day 1

Posted on: May 15, 2018

Good morning, it is Tuesday, May 15th.  It is a day 1.

Attention 5th grade students:  Today you will be taking the NWEA Reading Test.  After KORT, you will be testing with the same teacher and in the same location that you took your MCA Reading Test. Testing students are reminded to leave your phone or electronic device in your locker and bring a book to read, and any homework and report to your assigned testing location.

Also, Middle School West students are reminded that SNAP is back to Wednesdays for the rest of the school year.  So tomorrow, all students, except 7th grade, as they are taking their NWEA Reading test, will report to your regularly scheduled SNAP location.  For 7th Grade Students, this means that at 8:30 tomorrow you will be reporting to your testing location.  You will be testing with the same teacher and in the same location that you took your MCA Reading Test.

All lost and found items have been moved outside the office.  There are a lot of winter items, especially hats and gloves/mittens.  If you are missing anything, please visit the lost and found and take anything that belongs to you.  Any remaining items will be donated this afternoon.

All those that attended the Community Ed Knitting class this past winter are welcome to come to Mrs. Bergan’s room after school tomorrow from 3:15 to 4:00. Bring your knitting to share your progress with your friends and you can ask Mrs. Bergan and Miss Bauer any questions you have about knitting before going into summer break. We hope to see all of you there!

Any girls interested in summer basketball camp can pick up a flyer in the office or see coach Hamre

There will be a robotics demonstration in the atrium today during lunches for 6th and 7th graders.  We will be offering a First Tech Challenge Team next year for 7th and 8th graders. The demonstrations will take place around 12pm and around12:55pm.  If you have any questions or are interested in joining the team talk to Mrs. Schlecht.

Any girls or boys who will be in 7th, 8th, or 9th grade next year and are interested in running Cross Country in the fall, please stop by either Mr. Venaas’s or Mrs. Strait’s room to fill out an interest form.

The 7th Grade baseball A Team stuck with it in the end of the game last night. The Knight’s jumped out to an early lead in the second inning with five runs, three of those runs coming on a triple from Braden I. The Knight’s hitting looked unstoppable. When it was 7-3 the rain picked up, both teams made repeated errors and struggled against each other’s offense. The middle innings started to look dismal when the Magic put up five runs but the Knight’s rallied to put four runs on the board, stealing home repeatedly. The game finished with a score of 11-11.

7th & 8th grade softball teams are at Monticello High School tonight.  A games are first.  Dismissal from class today is at 2:15.

8th grade baseball teams are home tonight against East at 3:45.  A and B games played at the same time.
