Good morning, it is Friday, September 29th.  It is a day 1.  Today is Blue and Gold/ STMA School Spirit day.

Superb job to our newest Knights Honor winner!  They are:  5th graders: Peter C. and Emily M., 6th graders: Drake K. and McKenna H., 7th graders: Jadyn W. and Owen L., and 8th Johan B. and Mike M.

Let’s celebrate the Twins being the first team to make the playoffs one year after losing 100 games!  Wear your Twins baseball gear on Tuesday for their first playoff game!

Students and Staff:  Picture retake day is scheduled for next Tuesday.  All students and staff that did not get a picture taken by Zahler Photography will need to report to the Atrium (follow the signs) to have their picture taken during your scheduled lunch.  KORT Teachers:  If you have students that did not get their picture taken and would like to order pictures, send them to the office to get a Zahler Picture Order Form.

The annual homecoming tailgating party is tonight at the varsity football field beginning at 4:30.  There will be food and games.  Come on out and enjoy the festivities before the Knights football game with Totino Grace.  Presale tickets to the game and the tailgate event will be available at the high school activity office starting tomorrow.

All youth soccer players wearing a soccer jersey will get into the boys’ AND girls’ soccer games on tomorrow for FREE.

There will be an organizational meeting right after school on October 6th  for all 7th & 8th grade girls interested in playing school basketball this year.  That meeting will be in the lecture hall.

Upcoming varsity events you can get into for free by wearing your Knights Against Cancer t-shirt:  next Monday’s tennis match with Becker, the girls’ soccer game against Chisago Lakes next Tuesday, the STMA cross country invitational next Tuesday, and the boys’ soccer game against Big Lake next Thursday.

After a week and a half of tough workouts, the Cross Country teams got to compete at the Buffalo Invitational yesterday. The girls team finished in second place and the top runners from West were, Leah T. 32nd and Cameron L. who finished 45th. The boys team finished in third place thanks to a tie-breaking finish by Gavin G..  Gavin finished ahead of a runner from Monticello and that was the tie-breaker.  Adam H. 16th, Bobby C, 23rd, and Gavin R. 24th turned in great performances and Gavin finished 29th.

The boys’ soccer A team had a phenomenal game last night against North Branch winning 5-1.  Scoring goals for the Knights were Riley R., Connor P., and Ryan I.

Lunch today:  Lines one and two have cheesy French bread.  Line three has grilled cheese sandwich, PBJ grape, deli turkey sandwich.

Have a great day.
