Posted on: Sep 22, 2017

Good morning, it is Friday, September 22nd.  It is a day 2.

A big congratulations to our first 2017-18 Knights Honor winners. They are:  5th graders, Ava G. and Gavin R., 6th graders, Sadie S. and Emma M., 7th graders, Piper C. and Owen V., and 8th graders, Blazden M. and Avery L.

Students, this is a reminder about Cell Phones and Electronic Devices:  Students are not allowed to use electronic communication devices such as cellular phones, electronic games, CD players, Ipods, MP3 players, Apple Watches, etc. during the school day (8:00-3:05) unless they are using them in a Project Phoenix/BYOD Classroom.  If a staff sees that you have it out in the hallway between 8:00 and 3:05 or at lunch, they are instructed to bring it down to the office for your parent or guardian to pick up.

All youth soccer players wearing a soccer jersey will get into the boys’ AND girls’ soccer games on September 30th for FREE.  Note this was a mistake on previous announcements, the games are on September 30th, not this Saturday.

The 7th grade volleyball team took on Chisago Lakes last night.  Both the A and B teams came out with dominant wins.  The B team won 3 to 0.  Scoring big for the Knights were Natalie F., and Holly C..  We had some great plays from Alyssa S. and Jocelyn K..  The A team also won 3 to 0.  The Knights again dominated with our serving. We weren’t able to have many plays because our servers made it too hard to return the ball. Some of the big servers on the night were Maddie G. and Julia W.

The boys’ soccer team was phenomenal last night against Princeton!  The A team had some great competition but stayed tough and won 2-0.  Riley R. scored one of the two goals.  The West B team had some great teamwork tonight and came out victorious with a 5-3 win over Princeton. Goals were scored by Bryon E.N., Sam D., Bjorn W., and two goals from Jake K.  Great job boys!

The girls’ soccer team split with Cambridge-Isanti last night.  The A team finished the game with a frenzy, but ultimately lost 3-2.  Scoring for the A team were Sydney P. and Josephine E. with two assists from Edie N.  The A team also had great defense and determination from Gabby C., and so many others.   The B team won the first game of the night by a score of 5-0.  Scoring for the B team was Jadyn W., Zaya E.,  and Kaitlin C.,  with an assist from Emily Z.

Lunch today:  Lines one and two have stuffed cheese or stuffed pepperoni pizza.  Line three has fish patty, PBJ grape, deli turkey sandwich.

Homecoming dress up days for next week are Monday: Student/Teacher Swap, Tuesday: Beach Day, Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday/ Crazy Hair, Thursday: Dynamic Duo , Friday: Blue and Gold/ STMA School Spirit

Have a great day.
