Good morning, it is Friday, January 19th.  It is a day 2. 

Congratulations to Colin R.  Colin won the district spelling bee last night and will now advance to the regional spelling bee in St. Cloud on February 5th.

Superior job to this weeks Knights Honor winners!  5th grade winners are:  Molly K. and Leighton B.  6th graders:  Juliana Z. and Annica W., 7th grade winners:  Nate P. and Ariona N., and 8th graders:  Grace L. and Julia S.

7th & 8th grade winter athletes, remember that mid-tri is this week.  Make sure you are passing all of your classes, so that you can remain eligible to play your sport.

Students in grades 6 – 8 that are interested in Weightlifting should pick up a flyer in the office.  Just a reminder that winter weight lifting starts next week Wednesday.  The session will cap at the first 100 kids, boys and girls grades 6-8, who sign up.  If you need a flyer, you can grab one from the office, Mr. Kelley or register online.

Register Online with community education for winter art club. Art Club is for students in GRADES 5-8 interested in being creative and making art. Mrs. Erickson runs art club on Wednesdays from 3:15 until 4:15 for eight weeks and it begins on January 31st.   Registration Ends January 30th

The FYCC Father Daughter Winter Wonderland Dance is Saturday, February 10th from 6-8 pm at Fieldstone Elementary.  Open to all ages!  There will be a dance, snack, raffle, princesses and a photographer! Registration at  Please register by February 1st.  Questions call FYCC at 763-496-6820.

The 7th grade boys’ basketball A team beat Monticello 34-20 last night.  Kaleb K. had a huge game scoring 16 points and gathered in a bunch of rebounds.  Nine different players scored baskets showing that team balance is a strength.  The Blue B team gained their first win of the season.  The Knights jumped out to 28-12 lead in the first half.  Monticello battled back within 2 points and gave the boys a scare.  STMA quickly built the lead back to 10 with defense and hustle. Tyrone T. had 12 points with many driving lay-ups and good defense.  Ryan L. was tough on both ends of the floor scoring 8.  Bubba D. played a fine game from the point guard position.  The Gold B team lost to Monticello 31-25  The boys had the lead most the game, but eventually the size of Monticello won out.  The Knights were led in scoring by Sean T. with 6 points.  All teams will continue to improve with focused practice and effort.

STMA Girls basketball hosts the Big Lake Hornets tonight!  Added feature that you don’t want to miss is we have all three bands playing tonight.  Middle School East and West bands will be joining the high school band for pregame and halftime entertainment.  Great basketball and great music.

Lunch today:  Lines one and two have stuffed cheese or stuffed pepperoni pizza.  Line three has breaded chicken patty on a bun, PBJ grape, and deli turkey on a hoagie bun.
