The 8th grade girls’ basketball A team defeated North Branch on Thursday with a commanding win. The Knights jumped the lead with a 15-0 run to start the game. They followed with excellent team play, getting everyone in the books by the end of the game, adjusting to both man and zone defense. The Gold B team improved to 4 and 1 on the season with a thrilling one point victory.

The 7th grade girls’ B basketball team had an outstanding come from behind victory over North Branch 25-22. Trailing 16-7 half way into the second half the girls came roaring back. Emma D. started the rally with a driving lay-up that energized the team. Makiah K. stole an in –bounds pass that stopped a scoring opportunity for North Branch late in the game. Annie T. and Niki B. executed a perfect pick and roll to put the Knights up by three. A late 3 point attempt by North Branch missed and the team hung on for the win. Niki B. had 9 points and a ton of rebounds and Annie T. scored 6 all in the second half.

Congratulations to Ms. Siems, who is this week’s KS95 Teacher of the Week! Students and staff alike are lucky to have her here at Middle School West.

Lunch today: Lines one and two have cheese bites with marinara sauce. Line three has shredded turkey on a hoagie bun, PBJ grape, and deli turkey sandwiches.

Have a great day.
