Good morning.  It is Wednesday, March 18th.  It is a day 1. 

Congratulations to the following students who are the winners of the Hanenberger trivia challenge:  Adalyn P., Avery R., and Sharda P..  Please come to the office at this time to claim your prize.

Spring picture day is tomorrow.  If you would like to have your picture taken please pick up a form in the office. 

Attention Artists!  Art Club is starting up again!  We meet Wednesdays after school from March 25 thru May 20th.  We will be going on a [yet to be determined] fieldtrip on one of the Wednesdays.  Please see Mr. Jergenson or Ms. Poirer if you would like to know more.  Sign up is thru Community Ed online or over the phone.

There will be an informational meeting tonight after school in the cafeteria for all 7th & 8th grade boys and girls interested in going out for track this spring.

Spring weight lifting begins March 30th.  This session is open to all 6-8 graders.  The first 80 to sign up will be accepted.

Congratulations to our girls’ varsity basketball team on their win over Centennial yesterday.  They now advance to the state semi-finals to be played at Williams Arena tomorrow night at 8:00.  Those 7th & 8th graders that want to ride the fan bus to the game, need to turn their permission forms and money into Mr. Sukalski by 1:00 today.  Tomorrow’s girls basketball semifinal game between STMA and Eastview will be televised live on KSTC TV, channel 45.

We have been celebrating lots of reading accomplishments and winners of contests from the I Love to Read month this week and last week.   Mrs.  Pilney’s KORT class had some AWESOME donuts last week for decorating the second place winning poster in the book poster contest.  Mrs. Syverson’s KORT class had McDonald’s breakfast Monday to celebrate their winning poster contest.  And Mrs. Autio’s, Mr. Daniel’s and Mr. Jensen’s KORT classes get to have candy bars for their 3rd place posters.  Congratulations to all and hope you enjoyed your treat. We would also like to announce the top AR point getters for Trimester two.   The class who earned the most points this Tri was Mr Payne’s class with 1472.3 points.  Great job.  Four other classes deserve mentioning as well by all of them earning over 1000 points.  Great job to the KORT classes of Mr. Hackenmueller, Mrs. Autio, Mr. Fraley and Mrs. Kelm!!! We also have 10 individual readers are truly role models and winners in our middle school they have all earned over 231 points this trimester with the 1st place winner earning 389.6 points.  That honor goes to Vitaley S.!!   Nice score!!  The other 9 students in the top 10 are Brianna S., Annalise D., Aubrey R., Cora B., Caleb B., Alexis P., Marley A., Ted W., and Kristina H..    The top 10 individuals will receive a book, a candy bar, and a Barnes and Noble gift certificate.  Please come to the media center at this time to claim your prizes.  All the students in Mr Paynes class will get to order a book from Scholastic Book Orders.  Mrs. Ferris will be in sometime this week to get your order!! CONGRATS TO ALL AND KEEP ON READING!!!

 A reminder to students in the marching band: fundraiser items will be here after school today. Please plan to pick them up in the high school band room immediately after school, or to have someone else get them on your behalf. They are frozen and will spoil if not picked up. Items left after 4:30pm will be sent back to the fundraising company. Thanks!
