The 7th grade traveled to Monticello to take on the Magic and came away with a sweep. The A team won 43-17. Kale H. led the way with 14 pts and 5 rebounds. Nick O. was next with 8 pts. Jack C. contributed 6 pts. Semaj H. ended the night with 5 pts. Andrew E. and Brandon L. each chipped in 4 pts and Tyson R. finished with 2 pts. The Gold B team also played its best game of the season in beating the Magic 41-29. A very balanced scoring night from the Knights helped pace the victory. Tyler T. led the way with 8 pts and also dominated the glass with 8 rebounds. Noah N., Nolan G., and Tyren C. each had 6 pts. Tyren also chipped in 7 rebounds. Garrett P. had 5 pts, Josh C. had 4 pts, and Bryce S., Luke T. and Chase O. chipped in 2 pts each. The Blue B team played very well and defeated Monticello.
The 8th grade Boys Basketball teams are heading in different directions as the season winds down, as the A team has now dropped 3 games in a row, and the Gold B team has won 3 in a row. The A team lost a nail-biter at MSE on Monday afternoon 50-48, at the hands of the Chisago Lakes Wildcats. Too many missed lay-ups and open shot opportunities were the demise for the Knights in the game. Trey F. again led the Knights with 21 points and 7 rebounds, Matthew W. played well and contributed 9, and Austin H. battled his way to 6 points. The A team could not put enough defensive stops together to slow down a talented Monticello Magic team on Tuesday afternoon, and lost 34-50. Josh G. led the way with 6 points, and Johnny M. scored 5 points, including a big 3 pointer. The A team is now 4 and 6 on the season. The GOLD B team has put together three wins in a row, beating Chisago Lakes and Monticello in their past 2 contests. Jared D. has displayed his athletic ability and really dominated the past couple games, scoring 24 on Monday, and 28 on Tuesday. Issac F. and Zach N. continue to improve as they each have collected points, and a few steals and rebounds in the past few games. Hunter G. is doing a great job protecting the paint and altering shots, and Jack O. keeps on pulling down big rebounds and he has scored in two straight games as well. The Gold B team now sits at 3 and 4 on the season.
Today we have our last clue in the scavenger hunt for our I love to read month. Remember that you will use the clues that are given to help you find a location in the building. At this spot you will find the entry form, a stamp and a book. You will fill out the information on the entry form: Your name and grade level and stamp the back and write the title of the book on the back of the entry form. Bring the form to the media center. Get a prize for entering and your name will be entered in the drawing for the GRAND PRIZE which will be picked next week. Good luck to all!! This week the location of the stamp and book is just outside the doors and around the corner from offices and the home of one of the most important jobs within our school building. Without this group of hardworking dedicated people our school and any other school would not function. Find the office of this group and you will find the stamp. These two books will help you in identifying this job. the first book is called Miss Lazar is Bizarre!! by Dan Gutman. The second one is called Janitor's Boy by Andrew Clements. In the first one Miss Lazar herself has the job that we are talking about and in the second it is the main character's father's occupation.
Book Illustrations Contest:
During Lunches we will also begin our Book Illustrations Contest. Along the South wall of the cafeteria there are 25 posters with pages from picture books that you may recognize. You will try to identify the book and the author that the page is from. There will be paper, pencils and a box to place your entries down in the cafeteria during lunches for the rest of the week. The person who is able to identify the most illustrations will win a prize. Some are really easy and others are really tricky!! Identify as many as you can!! Good luck!!!
Have a great day.
