Posted on: Dec 2, 2014

Good morning.  It is Tuesday, December 2nd.  It is a day 2.

Attention Art Club students: Tomorrow is the Art Club Field Trip to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.  Please make sure that you have a ride home when we will return to East around 5:45.  Check out the current exhibits at the MIA by going to www.artsmia.org.  Please meet Mr. Jergenson and the rest of the Art Club in the Art Room after school.  Please remember to let Mr. Jergenson know if you do NOT plan to attend ASAP! See Mr. Jergenson if you have questions or still need to turn in your permission form/ bus money.

There will be an organizational meeting in the cafeteria after school on Friday for all 7th & 8th grade boys interested in going out for school basketball this winter.

The 8th grade girls’ basketball teams were able to earn a split against Becker last night with the A team winning 38 to 9, and the B team losing by a score of 41 - 10. The A team might have put their best overall game of basketball together so far this season. The Knights played a fast, suffocating defense, which forced a bunch of  turnovers, and then played unselfish on the offensive end; not caring who scored, making the extra pass and knocking down the open shots. Megan B. again led the way with a double-double, finishing with 12 points and 11 boards. Molly W. had some great drives to the basket on her way to 9 points, and seven other Knights each chipped in with a basket or two. The win puts the A teams’ record at 4 wins and 2 losses.

The B team showed small steps of improvement, but were out matched by the much taller Bulldogs, which led to many second chance points. Arinda B. led the Knights with 6 points, 4 steals, and 4 assists.

8th grade girls’ basketball team is home tonight (at West) against Big Lake at 4:00.  A game is first.

Hey, MSE Staff, here’s Clue #2 for your Passport to Prizes: “Do you hear what I hear? A song, a song, high above the trees with a voice as big as the sea.”

Have a great day.
