The last night of East 7th grade football did not go as planned as the BLUE B team lost 16-0 to Buffalo last Tuesday. The team could not get much going on offense as turnovers proved costly. The few bright spots we had were Evan O. with a long run. William H. had a couple tough runs for first downs. Charlie W. had the play of the day on defense by taking the football right out of a Buffalo player’s hands.  The team worked hard every day and improved on their football skills as the season went on.

The 8th grade football teams wrapped up their season last Tuesday with victories over Buffalo.  The A Team won 14-0.The defense really got the job done by shutting down a normally high powered offense. Ethan Y., Kiers B., and Xavier P. all recovered fumbles in the game.  Jake S. and Kiers B. scored the touchdowns and Drew E. tacked on a 2 point conversion.  The offensive line again paved the way for a strong running game.  Avery B. and Alex M. connected on a 50 yard pass reception and through it all, Aidan L. provided encouraging words to keep the team motivated.  The B team won 22-0.  The Knights chewed up the entire first quarter on offense and finished it with a short TD run.  Ben K. and Gavin S. hooked up on a pretty 70 yard scoring pass on the last play of the first half to make the score 14-0.  MSE completed their scoring with a Caleb B. QB sneak in the second half.  It was a great season for the B team Knights with all the players showing steady improvement and a fine record of 6-1. Coaches Anfinson and Mueller would like to wish the teams good luck as they continue on in school and sports at STMA.

Have a great day.
