Please join us for our 8th annual Cancer Awareness Basketball game tonight when the Knights host the Buffalo Bison.  This is a boys/girls double-header so it’s going to be a night filled with great basketball. This year’s fundraising efforts will benefit Chris Braun and her family!  You won’t want to miss out on the amazing raffle prizes that have been donated for this event.  There will also be a 50/50 drawing where the winning ticket gets half of the pot (the other half will be donated to the Braun family)!  We will start some of the drawings during the boys’ basketball games so get there early!

The 7th grade boys’ basketball team took on the Tigers from Princeton and came away with two close losses.  Cole T. led the way for the Blue team with 16 pts and numerous rebounds underneath.  Ethan R. used a good inside game to get 6 pts.   Roman G. and James Z. each contributed 2 pts.  The A team struggled through a poor shooting night and some defensive lapses, but were still in the game until the end  losing 32-26 to the Tigers.  Owen H. led the way with numerous aggressive drives to the basket and finished with 13 pts.  Aidan H. had 5 points and some key putbacks off some offensive rebounds.  Matthew M. had 4 pts.   Colton D. had 3 pts, and Logan J. finished with 2 pts.

The 8th grade boys’ basketball teams faced a tough match-up against Princeton yesterday. The Blue team started out strong with back-to-back baskets by Aiden B. The Tigers went on a run to take the lead which they held for the remainder of the game. The Knights fought back to close the gap, but were unable to gain the lead, losing 38-31. The Knights were led by Dylan B. with 7 assists and 6 points, Caleb B. with 5 steals, and Aiden B. with 6 points. The A team fell to the Tigers in a high intensity match-up. Our posts were put to the test against their big offensive threats, playing tough post defense. The Knights were able to cut the lead to one with an aggressive press at the end of the first half, but the Tigers increased the lead again in the second half. The Knights were relentless in their efforts, closing the gap with about 5 minutes left to play, only to fall 50-45 in the game. Leading the Knights were Kyle R. with 5 boards, Carson R. with 7 assists, 6 steals and 10 points, and Alex M. and Rylan M. with 8 points each.

Have a great day.
