Good morning.  It is Friday, April 17th.  It is a day 1.

Congratulations to the Knights Honor winners for this week:  They are Ryan H. and Jadyn H.  Please come down to the office at this time to claim your prize.

Student Council is hosting a Penny Drive to raise money to make blankets for Wright County Child Services.  Students can bring in donations to the bins located in front of the office – the bin with the most money wins.  If we can raise a total of $1,000 Mrs. Kelly will spend the night on the roof of the school! The Penny Drive is up and running and will end Friday April 24th.

WEB is hosting a dodge ball tournament tonight.  We are raising money to make sandwiches for people who are homeless. The cost per player is $5.

Track team, West is going to Monday’s track meet in Buffalo.  East will have the day off.

7th & 8th grade athletes.  Next week, the weather is supposed be much colder than this week.  Be prepared.  Make sure to have warm clothes with you for your practices and events.

The 8th grade softball teams started the season off with a bang Thursday against Monticello.  The B Team won 15-1 behind some solid pitching by Lindsay R.  Mackenzie P., Lindsay R., and Katelyn J. each scored two runs.  The A Team won 9-1. Maddie J. laid down a beautiful bunt for a base hit, while also advancing runners.  The softball teams will have home games Tuesday and Thursday next week.  Come watch – it’s more fun than watching the Twins!

The 7th grade baseball A team lost 6-5 to Monticello in a well played game by both teams. Ben F. lead STMA going 3 for 3 with two doubles and three strong innings of pitching. Jack C. also hit a double. Luc L. made a spectacular catch in left center field. The B team lost a close game 4-3. Noah N. pitched two strong innings and Tyler Y. played a strong defense at shortstop.
