Teacher Wish Lists

Staff members will complete a Wish List of titles of books that they would like to have in their classrooms. These make wonderful gifts; putting more books in the hands of our students. Please ask at the counter for the individual lists with the title and price of each item if you are wishing to donate a book. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!!

One for Books/Change Challenge

During the Book Fair the Middle School East is participating in a classroom coin challenge for Scholastic Book Fairs One for Books program. We are asking for pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills. All of the money collected goes directly to purchasing more books for our Media Center. Scholastic will also match all monetary donations with contribution of up to one million books to national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping families in need. These organizations include the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., and the Kids in Need Foundation. Money will be collected in our Language Arts classrooms and our Student Council members will collect and count the change to determine which team collected the most. The team that collects the most will choose $200 worth of books to be split between classrooms of the teachers on that team, including the grade-level ALB teachers. Please bring in your change to help in getting more books for our media center, our classrooms, and families in need!! Every coin counts!!! Thank you in advance for your participation in this worthy cause!! Your donations are greatly appreciated!! Donate change and/or dollars to help purchase books for our middle school and Scholastic will match the One for Books dollars with a donation of up to a million books (one for every dollar donated) to three non-profit programs devoted to improving reading skills among children: Kids in Distressed Situations, National Center for Family Literacy, and Toys for Tots.

Scholastic Book Fairs

Each year our Middle School Hosts three Scholastic Book Fairs. It is a great opportunity to get books in the hands of our students at reasonable prices. Each day the book fair is open during the school day from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. The fair is also open during each of our scheduled conference evenings from 3:45 - 7:45 pm.
Parent volunteers are welcomed and needed to help during the fair each day that it is open. The busiest time we are needing assistance is from 8:00 am - 8:30 am. Please contact Sandi Ferris if interested in helping out.
