The 7th grade girls’ basketball A team put together their best game of the season beating Cambridge 40-28.  Balanced scoring was the key as six different players scored.  Leading the way was Megan S. with 11.  The girls ran several of their plays on offense to perfection.   They also utilized the fast break to gain some easy baskets.  It was a great team effort by the Knights.  The B team picked up their fourth win of the season winning 24-19.   The Knights built a 10 point lead and had to hang on against a scrappy Cambridge team.  Libby L., Camryn L., and Serena W. as they all made positive contributions to the win.

If you see an 8th grade girls basketball player in the halls today, give them a respectful high-five for the two wins they earned in their double header with the Chisago Lakes Wildcats this past Thursday night.  The B team kicked off the afternoon by getting in their opponents passing lanes for steals, and collecting offensive rebounds, which earned the girls many shot opportunities. Izzy B. recorded a double-double with her 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the undefeated B squad to victory. The A team only led 14 to 8 at halftime, but put the Wildcats away by outscoring them 19 to 4 in the 2nd half. A team was energized by Abby B.’s 10 points and 6 assists.

The 7th grade girls’ basketball B team picked up its third win of the year beating Chisago Lakes 29-16 on Thursday night.  The team got off to a fast start and never looked back. Five different girls scored points.  Lynzie M. 10, Natalie Z. 4, and Lydia P. 2.  Natalie’s points were her first of the season!  Her positive attitude and energy paid off with a nice game. The A team lost yet another close ball game.  The team stayed close, but finally ran out of gas losing 27-21. Maria R. provided scoring punch netting 8 points.  The girls kept a great attitude in yet another close defeat.

Wrestling team is at Princeton Middle School tonight.  Bus leaves at 3:20.

7th & 8th grade girls’ basketball teams are home tonight against Cambridge at 4:30.  8th grade girls, there will only be one game tonight, Cambridge does not have enough 8th graders to play two games.  All of our players will play in the 4:30 game.  7th grade will play two games as normal.

Have a great day.
