Truancy and Attendance

Bussing: With student safety in mind, Big Woods was designed with a separate bussing area. All students who ride the bus will be picked up and dropped off near Door D, which is located on the west side of the school. When students arrive at school, they will be instructed to enter the building using Door D. All students arriving before 7:30 will be supervised in the neighborhood hallways.

Transportation is provided by Don's Bus Service, Inc. of Albertville. Please call (763)497-2585 with any questions regarding busing information.

Parent Transportation: Parents who drive their children to and/or from school may drop them off or pick them up in front of the school on the east side. Parents may access the school from Frankfort Parkway, and their children may use Door A. Students should not arrive at school before 7:20 a.m. or be picked up later than 2:15 p.m.

Bicyclist and Walkers: Students who bike or walk may also use Door A. A bike rack is located near the front of the building. To ensure safety, bikers and walkers will not be allowed to use the bus road.

A Crossing Guard will be on duty from 7:20-7:40 a.m. and from 2:15-2:30 p.m. She/he will be stationed at Frankfort Parkway in front of Big Woods Elementary. When students arrive at school, they will enter the building using Door A. All students arriving before 7:30 will be supervised in the neighborhood hallways.
