Mr. Fischer and Mrs. Barthel teach all kindergarten PE classes. The major goals of PE are to have everybody participate and to develop physical fitness. Students have PE three times every six days for 30 minutes.
Mrs. Bauman and Mrs. Settergren work with the kindergartners teaching art. The art classes cover some of the basic elements of art and design as well as famous artists from around the world. Students have art once every six days for 30 minutes.
Mrs. Phillips teaches music to all kindergarten students. Kindergartners experience the instruments of the orchestra, beginning note values, their four voices (whisper, talking, calling and singing), movement, singing and listening activities and preparing for a spring music program. Students have music twice every six days for 30 minutes.
Kindergarteners at Albertville Primary School visit the S.M.A.R.T. room once every six days for 30 minutes. S.M.A.R.T. activities are brain-based and focus on four main areas: Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Visual Efficiency, and Auditory. The stations reinforce the academics taught in the kindergarten curriculum. Mrs. Bauman and Mrs. Smith teach S.M.A.R.T. (Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training)
Media Center & Computer Lab
The library media center has a collection of over 7,000 books in the areas of fiction and non-fiction to help support the curriculum and reading for enjoyment.
Students have instruction on media skills and information literacy once every six days for 30 minutes. During this time, students check out library books and learn about authors, identifying the main idea, and summarizing. Mrs. Bauman and Mrs. Kampa are the Media Specialists.
Students also have computer once every six days for 30 minutes. The emphasis in computers is literacy. Mrs. Bauer manages the computer lab.
