The Knights golfers played very good golf on May 9th against Buffalo and Big Lake. Some of the low scores for the Knights came from Joe C. who shot the lowest score of the day with a 30. Jace J. shot a 34, Gavin G. a 36, Jackson H. a 37, Gavin R. a 38. On the girls side Megan W. and Marah V. shot a 49.

MSWest was at Pebble Creek golf course in Becker on May 8th. This is a very challenging course, but the Knights did very well. Brady B. shot a 49, Jake B. shot a 49, 5 others shot a 52 Jace J., Hunter L., Riley R., Austin R.-A., Tyler G.

The Knights golf team played at Buffalo Heights Golf Course on April 24th. Jackson H. shot a 40, Austin R.-A. shot a 44, Chase C. shot a 50, Joseph S. shot a 51, and Max M. shot a 52.

STMA MS West golf team won by 13 strokes over Buffalo on April 11th. Jake B. and Jackson H. both shot a score of 40 which was the best of all the golfers yesterday. Yesterday was the first official golf meet for West, what a great way to start the season.

Boys Tennis Team finished 4-4 on May 16th against Buffalo.  It was a great matchup and a very fun night- thanks to all who came.  

The Gold tennis team was able to play indoors in a cool fieldhouse at Foley on May 15th against a very good junior varsity [many high school players]. Simon P., Joe S., and Liam L. picked up singles wins!

The boys’ Blue tennis team lost to Monticello on May 11th 8-5. Rand M. played well, helping his doubles team pick up two wins. Cobin S. earned a win with his doubles partner. And Johnny H. and Trent O. played great in a 6-2 win as well. Locke R. played well, helping his doubles team pick up two wins. John H. earned a win with his doubles partner. And Joel W. and Isaac F. played great in a 6-2 win as well.

STMA Tennis Boys Gold defeated Monticello 6-3 in doubles matches on May 2nd. Winning for the Knights were Scottie M.and Jackson R.; Thomas L. and James L.; Easton F. and Liam L.; Tyler H. and Jackson W.; Joe S. and Patrick O.; Curtis F. and Jack L. Tomorrow is the Gold Versus Blue Match after school!

The Blue Tennis Team lost a hard- fought match on April 27th against Becker. Eric G., John H., and Rand M. won their singles matches

Knights Boys Gold Tennis team lost at Buffalo 6-3 on April 17th. Joe S. and Liam L. won at singles and Easton F. and Tyler H. won at doubles.

Boys Knights Blue Tennis beat Cambridge-Isanti/ Princeton 6-1 in matches on April 11th. Doubles Wins for the Knights included Eric G and Noah A, Trent O and Jake B, Johnny H and Cobin S., Rand M. and Isaac F., John H. and Alex B., and Rand M. and Colby P.

Congratulations to the 8th grade girls track team. They won the western half of the Mississippi 8 Conference track meet on May 25th. Emma S. won both the 800 and the 1600 and finished 2nd in the triple jump, Rhe Z. won both the 200 and the 400, and Aliyah H. won the 100 Also placing in their events were Hali K. who finished 2nd in the 200, 2nd in the high jump, and 4th in the 100, Avery Kneefe 2nd in the 200 hurdles, 4th in the 100 hurdles, and 4th in the discus, Ashlyn M. 4th in the triple jump and 5th in the 400, Janie A. 3rd in the high jump, Taylor K. 3rd in the 100. Anna S. 5th in the long jump, Ava N. 2nd in the long jump, Jessica I. 2nd in the 1600, Maddie H. 5th in the 800, Marissa O. 2nd in the shot put, Regan M. 4th in the shot put, Grace L. 3rd in the high jump, Sydney A. 2nd in the 800, and Sydney C. 5th in the 800. The girls also won the 4X100 relay and the sprint medley relay. Final team scores were STMA 94, Monticello 64, Buffalo 40, and Big Lake 28.

The Knights also won the 4X100 relay. Final team scores were STMA 90, Monticello 67, Buffalo 57, and Big Lake 12.

The middle school track teams competed Thursday against Buffalo and Monticello on May 4th. The 7th grade girls team placed first as a team with Katie S. (1600), Hailey E. (disc), and Izzy C. (long jump) taking 1st in their individual events. The 8th grade girls also finished 1st as a team, led 1st place finishes by Emma S. (400 and triple jump) and Janie A. (High Jump). Colin S. finished 1st in the 200 to help the 8th grade boys team finish first, too. The 7th grade boys finished 2nd as a team but had an individual win by Reven S. (high jump). The team scores were STMA 67, Monticello 62, Buffalo 59, and Big Lake 41.

The Knights 8th grade A baseball team held on to beat Monticello 6-5 for the season sweep on May 16th. Eric F. was strong on the mound striking out eight Magic batters. Eric, Chase B., and Kyler K. all came through at the plate with a double and Jack H. had two. Blake L. scored two runs include the decisive score.The B team beat Monticello by an impressive score of 9-2. Brett “B-Willy” W. threw another gem and confounded the Magic hitters. Brett struck out three hitters and went four innings on the mound allowing zero earned runs. The Knights offense scored five first inning runs before having a single batter retired. Big hits included Logan H.’s RBI single and Chris W., Everett S. and Austin K. all coming through with doubles. Defensively, Chris W. and Matt K. made plays to keep the Magic bats quiet.

The Knights 8th grade A baseball team beat Cambridge 12-2 on May 11th to complete the season sweep of the Blue Jackets. Jack H. was magical on the mound dismissing three batters by way of the K. Taylor G. came in to close out the final inning of the game on the mound and proved to be too much of a challenge for the Blue Jacket batters. The Knights collected 15 hits with none bigger than Jack D.’s 2 run home run. Chase B., Jacob D., and Blake L. all contributed with two hits each.The Knights 8th grade B baseball team lost to Cambridge in a tough 5-2 ball game. Logan H. struck out three batters on the mound and kept the Knights in the game. Chris W., Parker G., and Everett S. all contributed with base hits. Logan H. and Nathan L. plated the Knights two runs.

The Knights 8th grade A baseball team beat a competitive Monticello Magic team 7-2 on May 9th. The Knights were led by Eric F. on the mound who pitched a complete game and struck out nine batters. Eric also contributed on offense reaching base twice and hitting a double. Kyler K. led the Knights’ offensive charge with two hits (including a double). Eric F., Chase B., Tommy S., Nic S., Max S., Jack H. and Kyler K. all scored a run in the victory.The B baseball team beat a good Monticello team 7-5. Tyler B. and Kai C. led the squad from the mound and put the Knights in position to get the win. Everett S. had a big hit to spark the West offense. It was a collaborative team defensive performance that helped the Knights hold on to the lead and add another win to their impressive season

The 8th grade A baseball team played East to a 5-5 tie on May 8th. West was led by solid pitching from Bryce S. and Alex N. On offense, Eric F., Blake L., Jacob D., Nic S. and Alex N. all reached base multiple times in the game to provide the team with scoring opportunities. Tommy S.’s two out double was the hit of the game for West. After giving up a run in the first, the B team boys fired back with Evertt S. leading the way with an RBI double to score two – at the end of the first West was up 5-1. Both teams continued to battle, and capping off the scoring for West was Logan H. with an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th to put West up 7-3 heading into the final inning. Logan’s RBI single would prove to be the game-winning hit for West, who hung on to win 7-6 over East.

The 8th grade B baseball team played Big Lake to a 2-2 tie in a tough game on Thursday. Tyler B. was strong on the mound and made it tough on the Hornet hitters all game. The Knights hitters worked the count and were disciplined at the plate to reach base, and Everett S. game through with a big hit. Overall, it was an impressive team performance. The A team took care of business in Big Lake on Thursday. The Knights’ bats were hot as they scored nine runs in the second and third innings led by doubles from Jacob D. and Tommy S. Blake L. pitched a complete game and didn’t give up a single hit.

The Knights 8th grade A baseball team fell by one run to Buffalo in a closely contested game with several stand out plays on May 3rd. The Knights got out to a nice lead thanks in part to Jack D. dazzling on the mound. Other highlights included Eric F. stealing home, Chase B. hitting a home run and Kyler K. making a remarkable catch in centerfield. The B team traveled to Buffalo with a mission last night: Attack the base-paths, and shutout the Bison…and they more than delivered. Charlie J. and Nathan L. combined for 6 shutout innings, striking out a combined 10, and allowing only a single hit. Parker G. led the way with a bases-loaded triple, adding 3 runs in the 4th. The Knights combined for 18 stolen bases in a convincing 15-0 win over the Bison to bring their record to 3-1 on the season. Well done fellas!

The 8th grade A baseball team got the best of Cambridge in a 13-0 victory on May 2nd. The Knights pitching was too much for the Bluejackets as Kyler K. struck out four batters and Nic S. struck out three. Chase B. led the team with two hits and Blake L. contributed with a double. Impressively, every player scored a run for the Knights. The A team moves to 4-0 on the season..The 8th grade B baseball team picked up a nice win over Cambridge behind the arm of Adam H. and the solid Knights defense. Offensively, Devin L., Chris W. and Kai C. all scored a run and Chris W., Everett S. and Austin K. all recorded an RBI. The win pushes the Knights to 2-0 in the Mississippi 8 and 3-1 on the season.

The 8th grade baseball A team won a hard fought game against a strong Foley team on April 17th. Eric F.outlasted the Foley lineup giving up only one run and picking up a complete game victory. The bats broke through for the Knights in the final inning as Max S., Nic S., Blake L., Jack D., Jacob D. and Jack H. put together a rally to break away from the Falcons. The Knights won 6-1 to improve to 2-0 on the season.The 8th grade B baseball team played hard and showed incredible fight as they fell to Foley in a tough game. Tommy S. and Parker G. battled on the mound as Taylor G. and Kai C. made quality plays in the field.

The West 8th Grade A team started the season with a convincing 9-1 win on the road over Middle School East on April 13th. It was truly a team win as all players contributed to the victory at the plate or in the field. Jack D. dazzled on the mound striking out eight hitters in three innings. Alex N. and Max S. took it the rest of the way with dominate performances on the mound. Jacob D., Alex N. and Jack H. all came through at the dish with two hits each and Bryce S. worked three walks as West rolled to the win. Thanks to our student fan section that made the trip to East to cheer on the team!

The 7th grade West baseball team split with Monticello on May 16th, winning the first game 8-3 and losing the second 2-0.  Ian S. and Zach H. each had two runs scored in the first game.  Dawson C. pitched a solid three innings in the second game.  

The West 7th grade baseball team went to Cambridge on May 11th with 11 players and came back with a 9-6 win in six innings. Evan S., Joe S., Kaleb A. and Grady B. led the way at the plate reaching base in all three of their at bats!

The West 7th grade baseball team hosted Monticello on May 9th. The B Team played to an 11-11 tie over six innings. Kaleb A. and Dawson C. had big days at the plate. Kaleb went 4-4 with two runs scored and Dawson went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and had a scoreless inning of relief pitching, striking out the side. In the A game, the Knights won 17-2. Hayden O., Ian S., Trey S. and Zach H. combined for the win on the mound. Zach was 4-4, scored 2 runs and just missed a home run for the cycle and Hayden scored 3 runs.

The 7th grade West baseball team traveled to rival East and played two competitive games last night. The B team lost 5-4 with Dawson C. and Carter F. keeping the hitters off their toes over six innings. Devon B. was 2-3 with a big double and a run scored! In the A game, West handed East their first loss of the season, winning 7-3. Ryan O. and Joe S. combined to pitch a very clean game! Layton C. dazzled in the field, making play after play at second base. Mason S. did a great job of putting balls in play, getting on base and scoring two of the runs. Hayden O. had a big bases clearing triple to really open things up in the win!

The West B team lost 6-1 at. Big Lake on May 4th. The A team won 6-1.

The West 7th grade baseball team won both games vs. Buffalo on May 3rd. The A game was a 10-9 win for the Knights. At the plate, Grady B. scored 3 runs and Mason S. went 3 for 3! In the B game, the Knights won 15-4. Carter F., Addison W. and Dawson C. each pitched two great innings in the win. Carter F., Carter H., Dawson C., and Kaleb A. each had two runs scored in the win. Great job 7th graders!

The 7th grade West baseball team won both games vs. Cambridge on May 2nd. In the first game, West won 9-0 behind a combined perfect game from Joe S. and Grady B. Joe faced nine batters in three innings with six strike outs and Grady faced three batters in the final inning, getting two strike outs! Evan S. had a monster day at the plate, hitting a long ground rule double and a triple. Hayden O. and Ryan O. each went 2-2 as well. In the second game, West won 2-1 behind strong and accurate pitching from Kaleb A. and Carter F. Kaleb also got himself on base twice and scored a run.

The 8th grade A baseball team came back from a 5-0 first inning deficit to top the Becker Bulldogs 6-5 on April 24th. Kyler K., Blake L. and Eric F. put together a rally to take the lead. Chase B. battled on the mound and recorded the win, and Blake L. came in to record the final out of the game for the save. The B team played shutdown defense to pick up their second win of the year. Austin K. and Adam H. each scored a run and Nathan L. had a huge double to lead the team on offense. The story of the game, however, was Brett W. on the mound and the defense behind him. The Knights played sound defense as Wilcox threw a gem, striking out four and dominating for the win.

The West 7th grade baseball team played Becker on April 24th t in two games. In the first game West won 6-0 behind a perfect game, 8 strike out performance from Zach H. He only faced 9 batters total! Layton C. had two runs scored as well in the win. In the second game, West tied Becker 4-4, with the potential winning run being thrown out in a close play at home in the last at bat. GREAT EFFORT BY ALL!

The 7th Grade Baseball team split with Foley on April 17th, losing 4-2 in the first game and winning 10-4 in the second game. In the first game, Trey S. and Justin M. did a great job of throwing strikes and relying on defense behind them. In the second game, Mason S., Joe S. and Layton C. were each a solid 2 for 2, with 6 runs scored between them!

The 7th Grade West played two well pitched games on April 13th against East. The B team won 11-4. Joe S. and Kaleb A. had strong performances on the mound, with Mason S. and Liam C. behind the plate. In the A game, West came up short, falling 3-0 in a great defensive battle with Ian S. and Grady B. splitting time behind the plate.

The 8th grade softball teams swept Buffalo on May 11th.  The B Team won 12-11.  Highlights included two singles by Sam M., a three run double and a single by Amy H., and a five run final inning for the win.  The A Team came from behind in the final inning to win 4-3.  Tori K. hit a solo home run.  Izzy B. added a double, Courtney O. hit a triple, and Mara N. came home on a passed ball to score the winning run.

The 8th grade softball teams lost a pair of close games to Big Lake on May 10th. Autumn Rothweiler struck out seven batters, but the B team lost 5-3. The A team scored a couple of runs on aggressive base running by Khulyn J.and Tori K., but could not squeak out any more runs losing 3-2.

The 8th grade softball A Team beat Princeton 15-5on May 9th. Kayla C.hit a two run home run and Khulyn J.hit a three run homer. In the B game Amy H.hit a triple and Chelsey G.added a two run homer but came up short losing 11-10.

The 8th grade softball teams played Cambridge on May 8th. The A team rally fell short as the team lost 7-6. The B team battled back and forth exchanging leads several times, but ultimately lost 10-9. The 8th grade softball teams played Monticello for the 2nd night in a row on Thursday. The B team lost our rematch 10-3. The A team kept their unbeaten streak alive by coming from behind to tie the game 5-5.

The 8th grade softball teams both won in Monticello on May 3rd The B team took advantage of several walks with aggressive base running and key singles by Amy H.and Jaiden F. to win 10-7. The A team was led to a 7-4 victory by Courtney O.who struck out 8 batters in 5 innings and hit a double. Kayla C.-W. had a triple and single and backstopped a solid defense whose quick reflexes behind the plate continue to prevent runs.

8th grade softball won both games against Buffalo on May 2nd. The A Team won 8-6. Highlights included a home run by Jessica H.and a triple by Courtney O. The B team's bats came alive with hits by Audrey H., Autumn R., Mara N., Chelsey G., Emma G., and Jaiden F.to win 7-5.

Both 8th grade softball teams beat Isanti on April 24th. Aggressive base running was key for both teams, with the A Team winning 10-8 and the B Team winning 9-6.

The 8th grade softball teams travelled all the way to North Branch on April 20th to find a dry field to play a game on. The B team fell behind, came back to take the lead, and then ultimately lost a close one 7-5. The A Team played an exciting game, winning 11-4. The team's bats are starting to come alive. Besides several singles, Courtney O.hit a double, Tori K.had a triple, and Jessica H.hit a 3 run home run and a grand slam home run. Jessica also executed a delayed steal the first time she was at bat. Izzy B., Jessica H., and Tori K.completed a double play to end the game.

The 8th grade softball teams started the season with a bang in Big Lake on April 11th. The A Team won 10-1. Jessica H. and Izzy B. showed their speed on the base paths and got the scoring started when Hannah G.hit a double. Kayla C.and Izzy B. followed up later with doubles as well. Courtney O.'s pitching, backed by solid defense by Tori K.and Khulyn J.prevented Big Lake from getting close.The B team won 8-2. This game started a bit slower, but the team came back behind Hannah G.'s pitching as well as a single and another double. Sam M.drove in a run on a double and Natalie M.knocked in 3 runs on a pair of singles.

On May 11th, the 7th grade softball team played the Buffalo Bison. The B team won 14-1. Reagan S. hit a double and Mia S. made her first pitching appearance to relieve Hannah H. Hannah pitched a great first inning only allowing one run. The A team won 14-0 with Paige H. and Sophie J. pitching a shut-out. The Bison didn’t make it all the way through their batting order in the three innings played. Sophie had hit a homerun scoring three runs for the team. Great work ladies.

On May 10th, the 7th grade softball played Big Lake at home. The B team played hard with doubles hit by Megan S. and Tommie T. Justyss B. and Gabby F. pulled off an outstanding double play in the third inning. Hannah H. pitched all 4 innings and all the girls battled but ultimately lost 14-2. The A team played second and kept their undefeated streak alive with a win of 13-0. The girls played three full innings but allowed Big Lake an extra at bat for a chance to score but Paige H. and Sophie J. were pitching with the perfect mix. If the Hornets were able to get a hit the girls wouldn't let them score. Emma V. and Mia S. hit doubles last night, along with Emma M.. Emma also hit a triple and a home run. Great job ladies.

The 7th grade softball teams came home from Princeton on May 9th with another win for the A and B team. The A team put up 23 runs partially due to Megan S.hitting three doubles, as well as multiple doubles from Jamie L., Emma V.and Paige H. Paige H. had two homeruns and Brenna H.also hit a homerun, concluding the game with a win of 23-0. The B team won last night with a final score of 13-6. Hannah H. started the game pitching keeping the 5-0 lead. The girls kept up their aggressive base running. Everyone played hard.

7th grade softball A team kept their undefeated streak alive last night with a victory over Cambridge, 13-0 on May 8th. Paige H. and Sophie J. had home runs last night, Sophie had hers back to back. Emma M. hit a double and a triple. Megan S. and Jamie L. both hit doubles. The bats were on fire. The B team played hard, but lost 11-5. In the bottom of the third they came back strong scoring all five of their runs starting with Jamie L. hitting a home run. It was just what the team needed to start the comeback, but unfortunetly time ran out and the game ended. Great job ladies.

On May 3rd and 4th, the 7th grade softball played against Monticello. Both teams won. The A team won by scores of 7-0 and 8-1 and B team won 15-8 and 9-5. All the girls had great aggressive base running, but the bats were on fire. Emma M., Emma V., Paige H. and Mia S. all hit triples. Mia even had two triples. Megan S., Brenna H.and Emma M. hit doubles. Then they were brought in by RBIs from Jamie L. and Lynzie M. Great job ladies.

The 7th grade softball team won both games against Isanti on April 24th. Paige H. pitched a shout-out game with the A team winning 15-0. In the bottom of the first inning Paige hit a triple allowing Megan S., Mia S. and Emma M. to score the first three runs of the game. Emma M. hit a home run in the bottom of the third inning. Sophia J. hit a double. Hannah H. started the B team game pitching last night. Catcher Abby C. did a great job stopping the ball and keeping the runners from advancing. Justyss B. hit a triple in the bottom of the second inning to end the game by the five run rule. The B team won 15-3. The girls played competitively and so skillfully that one of the opponents team players during the game stopped and complemented how great the team was. Great job girls!

On April 20th, the 7th grade STMA blue team had a win against North Branch, 14-11. The blue team was able to play a six inning game that started a little rough but then pulled off a great win. Reagan S. had an awesome double. Later Reagan and Justyss B. pulled off an awesome double play with Justyss catching a fly ball and quick thinking flipped in to Reagan on second. Great job girls!
