The STMA boys and girls golf teams played a dual meet in Princeton on May 22nd.  The boys took their first and only loss of the season by a close score of 176-178.  Scoring for the boys were Jack W. with a 41, Dylan B. 43, Derek Z. 44, and Nathan P. a 50.  On the girls side, the Knights were able to stay undefeated with a convincing win over Princeton 197-219.  Low scorer and medalist once again was Mya V. with an impressive 42, Emma O. 50, Lila L. 52, Annika L. 53, and Erin V. 54.  Congratulations on a great season golfers!

On May 18th, the STMA golfers hosted Big Lake and Princeton in a triangular at Vintage golf course. Both the boys and girls teams continued their undefeated seasons with convincing victories. The boys’ team shot a low score of 138 followed by Big Lake which posted a 172 and Princeton with a 205. Low scorers and medalists for the boys’ team were Landon S., Dominic P., and Porter O. who all posted impressive rounds of 34, followed closely by Wesley K. with 36, Wyatt N. 38, Kiers B. 39, Jonathan M. 40, and Adam D. and Eli P. at 41. The girls team posted a score of 155 while Princeton came in with a 203. Top scorer and medalist honors went to Mya V. with a solid 34. She was followed by Jordan M. and Gabby N. who shot a nice round of 40, Lila L. 41, and Maisie T. and Brooke B. scoring 44 respectively. Olivia F. also broke the 50 mark with a 47 for the Knights.

The STMA boys and girls golf teams hosted the Becker Bulldogs at Vintage golf course on May 4th. The boys’ team defeated Becker by a score of 132 to 169. The boys were on fire led by the medalist Landon S. who carded an impressive 2 over par 31. Landon was followed closely by Dylan B. who posted a 4 over par 33 and then a trio of sharp shooters in Derek Z., Jack W., and Eli P. who all had a great round of 34. Other notable scores were Dominic P. who shot a 35 and Wyatt N. with a 40. Great job guys! On the girls side of golf, the team collectively shot a nice round of 174 led by medalists Lila L. and Emma O. who both posted identical 42’s. Others breaking the 50 mark were Maisie T. who had a fine round of 43, Olivia F. who had her best round of the season with a 47, hard-swinging Brooke . with a 48, and Erin V. who also shot well with a 49.

The girls and boys competed in the Cambridge-Isanti golf meet at Sanbrook Golf Course on April 20th. Despite the cold and windy conditions, the teams played very well with the boys winning over the Bluejackets by a score of 168-178 and the girls posting a solid 208 score. The Cambridge-Isanti girls’ team did not have enough participants to qualify a team score. On the boy’s side of scoring, Dylan B. was the meet medalist, shooting an impressive low score of 37. He was followed by Landon S. with a 41, Jack W. with a 44, and Jonathan M. and Ian B. both carding a 46. Good job boys! The girls were very consistent in their scoring, led by Paige C. shooting the medalist score of 50, followed closely by Brooke B. with a 51, Maisie T. a 53, Erin V. and Emma A. 54’s, and Emma O. coming in with a 55. Congratulations to both teams as they moved the season record to 2-0 in dual meets.

The MSE boys and girls golf teams hosted their first meet of the season against Monticello at Vintage golf course on April 6th taking first in both events on a windy and cool evening. Using the top four scores of each team, the boys from East came out on top with a one stroke victory 160-161. Top scores for the boys were Ian B. and Dylan B., both posting low scores of 39, Wyatt N. and Adam D. with 41's, Wes K. 44, and Kiers B. with a 46. On the girls side of golf, the East team steamrolled the Magic team with a fine score of 168 to the Magic's 231. Posting low score for the team and medalist honors was Jordan M. with a 39, followed closely by Lila L. with a 42, Mya V. a 43, Annika L. 46, and Olivia F. and Emma H. both posting a 52. The teams from East shot very competitive golf.

Boys Tennis Team finished 4-4 on May 16th against Buffalo.  It was a great matchup and a very fun night- thanks to all who came.  

The Gold tennis team was able to play indoors in a cool fieldhouse at Foley on May 15th against a very good junior varsity [many high school players]. Simon P., Joe S., and Liam L. picked up singles wins!

The boys’ Blue tennis team lost to Monticello on May 11th 8-5. Rand M. played well, helping his doubles team pick up two wins. Cobin S. earned a win with his doubles partner. And Johnny H. and Trent O. played great in a 6-2 win as well. Locke R. played well, helping his doubles team pick up two wins. John H. earned a win with his doubles partner. And Joel W. and Isaac F. played great in a 6-2 win as well.

STMA Tennis Boys Gold defeated Monticello 6-3 in doubles matches on May 2nd. Winning for the Knights were Scottie M.and Jackson R.; Thomas L. and James L.; Easton F. and Liam L.; Tyler H. and Jackson W.; Joe S. and Patrick O.; Curtis F. and Jack L. Tomorrow is the Gold Versus Blue Match after school!

The Blue Tennis Team lost a hard- fought match on April 27th against Becker. Eric G., John H., and Rand M. won their singles matches

Knights Boys Gold Tennis team lost at Buffalo 6-3 on April 17th. Joe S. and Liam L. won at singles and Easton F. and Tyler H. won at doubles.

Boys Knights Blue Tennis beat Cambridge-Isanti/ Princeton 6-1 in matches on April 11th. Doubles Wins for the Knights included Eric G and Noah A, Trent O and Jake B, Johnny H and Cobin S., Rand M. and Isaac F., John H. and Alex B., and Rand M. and Colby P.

Congratulations to the 8th grade girls track team. They won the western half of the Mississippi 8 Conference track meet on May 25th. Emma S. won both the 800 and the 1600 and finished 2nd in the triple jump, Rhe Z. won both the 200 and the 400, and Aliyah H. won the 100 Also placing in their events were Hali K. who finished 2nd in the 200, 2nd in the high jump, and 4th in the 100, Avery Kneefe 2nd in the 200 hurdles, 4th in the 100 hurdles, and 4th in the discus, Ashlyn M. 4th in the triple jump and 5th in the 400, Janie A. 3rd in the high jump, Taylor K. 3rd in the 100. Anna S. 5th in the long jump, Ava N. 2nd in the long jump, Jessica I. 2nd in the 1600, Maddie H. 5th in the 800, Marissa O. 2nd in the shot put, Regan M. 4th in the shot put, Grace L. 3rd in the high jump, Sydney A. 2nd in the 800, and Sydney C. 5th in the 800. The girls also won the 4X100 relay and the sprint medley relay. Final team scores were STMA 94, Monticello 64, Buffalo 40, and Big Lake 28.

Congratulations to the 8th grade boys track team. Also placing in their events were James C. 2nd in the 100 and 2nd in the 400, Favor D. 3rd in the 100 and 3rd in the high jump, Ben H. 2nd in the shot put and 3rd in the 100, Bennett P. 4th in the long jump, Max M. 5th in the long jump, Ren H. 5th in the 100 hurdles, Dominic P. 5th in the discus, Ben L. 5th in the 400, Riley R. 5th in the high jump, and Sam P. 3rd in the triple jump. The Knights also won the 4X100 relay. Final team scores were STMA 90, Monticello 67, Buffalo 57, and Big Lake 12.

The 8th grade baseball A team beat Isanti 9-0 on May 16th.. Evan F. reached base three times and scored two runs, Tyler B. had an RBI single and Carter H. had an RBI single and played well at first base. The B team ended their game 9-3. The boys had their heads and helmets in the game as they sacrificed skin and limbs. Andrew S. had a two run single and played solid defense. Ryan B. made a great throw from the outfield to get a runner out.

The 8th grade baseball A team evened the season series with West with a 9-5 tie on May 8th. This was a great game with tons of excitement, great pitching by Caden K., Aaron L., and Bryce P., and a walk off dinger by Caden K.! The B team’s game ended 8-7. Andrew S. pitched three solid innings and Anthony S. was a brick wall behind the plate.

The 8th grade baseball B team returned to their winning ways with an 11-7 win over Buffalo on May 4th. The bats came alive as Garrett A., Ryan B., Kyle B. and Ben B. all had two hits. The A team had a rough night losing 15-3, however, Caden K. and Bryce P. turned a nifty double play and Alec S. had a clutch hit.

The 8th grade baseball B team lost a thriller to Monticello 8-7 on May 3rd. The boys fought back after being down by five. Ryan B. blasted an RBI triple and Kyle B. lifted off with a 2 run triple of his own. The A team secured a 3-1 win behind excellent pitching from Jacob N. as he struck out seven. This was a team effort with heads up base running, solid fielding, and great at-bats by the squad.

The 8th grade baseball A team defeated Becker on May 2nd 5-0. Caden K. threw three crushing innings and struck out 8 batters. Jacob N. went 2-2 with a dinger and Bryce P. finished the game with a strong inning on the mound. The B team struggled in a 9-1 loss but Anthony S. set down Becker with 3 strikeouts and Andrew S. had a couple nifty plays at shortstop.

The 8th grade baseball A team defeated Isanti 5-2 on April 24th behind a pitching gem from Alec S. who struck out seven batters. Alec also had an RBI single. Tyler B. was a brick wall behind the plate and Zach M. hit a homer in that is still rolling. The B team won a 2-1 thriller as Ben B. struck out four batters. Louis G. pitched the last inning to earn the save and Josh J. gave an awesome effort to record the final out of the game.

The 8th grade baseball A team lost to their West counterparts 9-1 on April 13th. The ball just didn’t bounce in favor of East but Jacob N. had a great pitching performance retiring 9 of 11 batters faced. The B team also lost to West 14-8. Carter H. had a nice pitching performance, Garrett A. had 3 hits and Josh J. had an excellent run saving catch in the outfield.

The 8th grade baseball A team started the season with a 9-0 win against Cambridge on April 11th. Caden K. and Zach M. pitched great and combined for a 12 strikeout shutout. Josh D. had a two run double. Aaron L. added a two run single. The B team lost a heartbreaker 3-2. Avery P. gave a valiant effort striking out three batters and Ben B. pitched well striking out four and adding two singles. Tyler M. had a run saving catch in the outfield.

7th Grade boys’ baseball B team defeated West on May 8th 6-4. Charlie B., Garrett S. and Caleb B. combined for 14 strikeouts while Hayden K. and Ethan Y. led the charge on offense. The A team lost their first game of the season to STMA West 7-3. East found some difficulty in the field allowing west to score five unearned runs. The big hit for east was a two run triple by Sawyer F. (two hits). Also collecting hits were Mason W., Owen T., Tommy K., Jake S., Hayden F., Martin S., and Carter H. Tommy K. pitched three strong innings giving up two runs. Aslo pitching were Owen N., Jake S. and Hayden F.

On May 4th, the A team kept on winning by beating Buffalo 5-1. Tommy K. threw three scoreless innings, striking out three. Owen T. made a great play at second base to stop a Buffalo threat in the third inning. Mason W. pitched the final three innings and picked a runner off at first base. Collecting hits for the team were Owen N. with two, Martin S., Hayden F., Luke W., and Carter H. each with one. The B team beat Buffalo 12-8. Garrett S. led the Knights on the mound with a strong start that included four strikeouts. Luke M. led the charge on offense reaching base and scoring three times. He had a triple, a ground-rule double and a hit-by-pitch. Carter B. and Hayden K. also had triples in the game. Dylan B. closed out the game with his first save of the season.

7th Grade B baseball team beat Monticello 10-4 on May 3rd. They were led on the mound by Charlie B. who struck out four and didn't allow any runs. Offensively Dylan B. and Luke M. each scored twice while Caleb B.and Ethan Y. had two hits apiece. The A team won 19-0 with Jake S., Martin S., and Hayden F. combining to hold Monti to just one hit. Leading the way offensively Casey L. collected three hits and a couples RBIs. Also getting hits were Jake S., Owen T., Sawyer F., and Martin S. Owen N. played a strong game at shortstop collecting three assists and two putouts. Catcher Tommy K. picked off a runner at first base.

The 7th grade east baseball teams took two victories against Becker on May 2nd. The A team won 11-0 and the B team scored a 10-2 victory. Highlights were the three inning, 7 strike out performance of pitcher Owen N. for the A team. Collecting big hits for the team were Casey L., Mason W. (with two hits), Martin S., Luke W. (two hits), Thomas K. (two hits), and Owen T. Cade C. finished the game by throwing a scoreless fourth inning. The B team was led by the hitting of Dylan B., who was 2-3 with 2 runs batted in. Carter B. pitched two innings working out of tough situations both innings. Also collecting hits for the B team were Caleb B. with two hits, Ethan Y., Max O., Neal K. and Charles B.

7th grade baseball A team beat West 3-0 on April 13th. The team was led by strong pitching performances from Thomas K., Jake S. and Martin S.. Defense was the key to the victory as the team turned three double plays to stop potential West threats. Getting hits for the team were Luke W. ( with two and a RBI), Owen T., Martin S., and Thomas K. The B team lost, but not without a fight. After trailing early in the game, Middle School East slowly tightened the score with solid defense, good pitching and quality at-bats. Charlie B. had a big double to start one of the comeback charges and Caleb B. was rounding the bases throughout the night with great at-bats. Neal K. had a strong showing on the mound and fielded his position well. Ethan Y. provided leadership behind the plate while Dorin S., Dylan B. and Max O. played a few different positions to help with solid defense. Although the comeback efforts fell short, they never gave up and played hard until the last pitch.

The 7th grade baseball team played Cambridge on April 11th and came away with two victories. The A team had great pitching and two hits from Mason W. to win 11-0. The team also had two hits by Owen T. Thomas K. and Jake S. each drove in two runs with hits. Also getting hits were Martin S., Sawyer F., Owen N., and Carter H. The B team won their game behind a strong pitching performance by Charles B. 9-1. Getting hits for the team were Luke M., Garrett S., and Dylan B. Dylan drove in two runs with his hit.

The 8th grade softball teams swept Buffalo on May 11th.  The B Team won 12-11.  Highlights included two singles by Sam M., a three run double and a single by Amy H., and a five run final inning for the win.  The A Team came from behind in the final inning to win 4-3.  Tori K. hit a solo home run.  Izzy B. added a double, Courtney O. hit a triple, and Mara N. came home on a passed ball to score the winning run.

The 8th grade softball teams lost a pair of close games to Big Lake on May 10th. Autumn Rothweiler struck out seven batters, but the B team lost 5-3. The A team scored a couple of runs on aggressive base running by Khulyn J.and Tori K., but could not squeak out any more runs losing 3-2.

The 8th grade softball A Team beat Princeton 15-5 on May 9th. Kayla C.hit a two run home run and Khulyn J.hit a three run homer. In the B game Amy H.hit a triple and Chelsey G.added a two run homer but came up short losing 11-10.

The 8th grade softball teams played Cambridge on May 8th. The A team rally fell short as the team lost 7-6. The B team battled back and forth exchanging leads several times, but ultimately lost 10-9. The 8th grade softball teams played Monticello for the 2nd night in a row on Thursday. The B team lost our rematch 10-3. The A team kept their unbeaten streak alive by coming from behind to tie the game 5-5.

The 8th grade softball teams both won in Monticello on May 3rd. The B team took advantage of several walks with aggressive base running and key singles by Amy H.and Jaiden F. to win 10-7. The A team was led to a 7-4 victory by Courtney O.who struck out 8 batters in 5 innings and hit a double. Kayla C.-W. had a triple and single and backstopped a solid defense whose quick reflexes behind the plate continue to prevent runs.

8th grade softball won both games against Buffalo on May 2nd. The A Team won 8-6. Highlights included a home run by Jessica H.and a triple by Courtney O. The B team's bats came alive with hits by Audrey H., Autumn R., Mara N., Chelsey G., Emma G., and Jaiden F.to win 7-5.

Both 8th grade softball teams beat Isanti on April 24th. Aggressive base running was key for both teams, with the A Team winning 10-8 and the B Team winning 9-6.

The 8th grade softball teams travelled all the way to North Branch on April 20th to find a dry field to play a game on. The B team fell behind, came back to take the lead, and then ultimately lost a close one 7-5. The A Team played an exciting game, winning 11-4. The team's bats are starting to come alive. Besides several singles, Courtney O.hit a double, Tori K.had a triple, and Jessica H.hit a 3 run home run and a grand slam home run. Jessica also executed a delayed steal the first time she was at bat. Izzy B., Jessica H., and Tori K.completed a double play to end the game.

The 8th grade softball teams started the season with a bang in Big Lake on April 11th. The A Team won 10-1. Jessica H. and Izzy B. showed their speed on the base paths and got the scoring started when Hannah G.hit a double. Kayla C.and Izzy B. followed up later with doubles as well. Courtney O.'s pitching, backed by solid defense by Tori K.and Khulyn J.prevented Big Lake from getting close.The B team won 8-2. This game started a bit slower, but the team came back behind Hannah G.'s pitching as well as a single and another double. Sam M.drove in a run on a double and Natalie M.knocked in 3 runs on a pair of singles.

On May 11th, the 7th grade softball team played the Buffalo Bison. The B team won 14-1. Reagan S. hit a double and Mia S. made her first pitching appearance to relieve Hannah H. Hannah pitched a great first inning only allowing one run. The A team won 14-0 with Paige H. and Sophie J. pitching a shut-out. The Bison didn’t make it all the way through their batting order in the three innings played. Sophie had hit a homerun scoring three runs for the team. Great work ladies.

On May 10th, the 7th grade softball played Big Lake at home. The B team played hard with doubles hit by Megan S. and Tommie T. Justyss B. and Gabby F. pulled off an outstanding double play in the third inning. Hannah H. pitched all 4 innings and all the girls battled but ultimately lost 14-2. The A team played second and kept their undefeated streak alive with a win of 13-0. The girls played three full innings but allowed Big Lake an extra at bat for a chance to score but Paige H. and Sophie J. were pitching with the perfect mix. If the Hornets were able to get a hit the girls wouldn't let them score. Emma V. and Mia S. hit doubles last night, along with Emma M.. Emma also hit a triple and a home run. Great job ladies.

The 7th grade softball teams came home from Princeton on May 9th with another win for the A and B team. The A team put up 23 runs partially due to Megan S.hitting three doubles, as well as multiple doubles from Jamie L., Emma V.and Paige H. Paige H. had two homeruns and Brenna H.also hit a homerun, concluding the game with a win of 23-0. The B team won last night with a final score of 13-6. Hannah H. started the game pitching keeping the 5-0 lead. The girls kept up their aggressive base running. Everyone played hard.

7th grade softball A team kept their undefeated streak alive last night with a victory over Cambridge, 13-0 on May 8th. Paige H. and Sophie J. had home runs last night, Sophie had hers back to back. Emma M. hit a double and a triple. Megan S. and Jamie L. both hit doubles. The bats were on fire. The B team played hard, but lost 11-5. In the bottom of the third they came back strong scoring all five of their runs starting with Jamie L. hitting a home run. It was just what the team needed to start the comeback, but unfortunetly time ran out and the game ended. Great job ladies.

On May 3rd and 4th, the 7th grade softball played against Monticello. Both teams won. The A team won by scores of 7-0 and 8-1 and B team won 15-8 and 9-5. All the girls had great aggressive base running, but the bats were on fire. Emma M., Emma V., Paige H. and Mia S. all hit triples. Mia even had two triples. Megan S., Brenna H.and Emma M. hit doubles. Then they were brought in by RBIs from Jamie L. and Lynzie M. Great job ladies.

The 7th grade softball team won both games against Isanti on April 24th. Paige H. pitched a shout-out game with the A team winning 15-0. In the bottom of the first inning Paige hit a triple allowing Megan S., Mia S. and Emma M. to score the first three runs of the game. Emma M. hit a home run in the bottom of the third inning. Sophia J. hit a double. Hannah H. started the B team game pitching last night. Catcher Abby C. did a great job stopping the ball and keeping the runners from advancing. Justyss B. hit a triple in the bottom of the second inning to end the game by the five run rule. The B team won 15-3. The girls played competitively and so skillfully that one of the opponents team players during the game stopped and complemented how great the team was. Great job girls!

On April 20th, the 7th grade STMA blue team had a win against North Branch, 14-11. The blue team was able to play a six inning game that started a little rough but then pulled off a great win. Reagan S. had an awesome double. Later Reagan and Justyss B. pulled off an awesome double play with Justyss catching a fly ball and quick thinking flipped in to Reagan on second. Great job girls!
